No church for GIC

As part of the Bible, wouldn't the words in red have been written by faithful men trying their best to discern and to relate the will of God and been translated and revised and politicized over the centuries?

written? no.

translated? yes.

Clearly, Jesus "spoke" in aramaic... his words have been translated, faithfully, and accurately. Matthew 6 still says that hypocrites pray in public, and I believe that is what Jesus said, in aramaic... hypocrites pray in public.

So... by your OP... you clearly are suggesting that, in order to satisfy YOU, our president should not follow the teachings of Christ.

and again: do YOU believe that the words written in red are a faithful and accurate translation of what Jesus actually said? yes or no.

nutless twit.

Jesus said, "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."

It would seem that the OP was encouraging the president to go against the teachings of Christ.

It seems like the OP was pointing out that he is a "Do as I say, not as I do." kind of hypocrite. Either lead by example or get out of our business, don't give us advice you are unwilling to follow.

I didn't see where Obama suggested that people attend church services. Did I miss that?

Bingo. Thank you, Damocles, and thank for all the hard work you put in after I reported that issue last night. Did you get any sleep?
