No, Bill Clinton Didn't Balance the Budget

Check this guy out from that link...

"Will a Catoin ever do the correlation - that more actual deregulation of major industries took place during the Carter and Clinton administrations, than was ever proposed during the sum total of the Nixon, Reagan, Bush and Bush tenures?"

So he's arguing that Democrats are the party of deregulation and not Republicans. Very interesting. I think Desh just had a heart attack right now. Does anyone believe this to be true?

Not surprising...for years "alternative" press folk have pointed out the complicity of Carter and Clinton in Nixon's Five Year Plan and Reaganomics. No matter how you look at it, the Cato Institute is just full of it.

If one took a survey comprising the last 35 years and asked which party supports deregulation more R's or D's I would surmise the Republicans would win by a strong strong majority. I would have answered that. Now the gentleman who wrote the article didn't give back-up data (that I saw) so we are taking him at his word that he is correct. But assuming he is it is a big shock to me.
