FBI and DEA agents have disrupted a plot to commit a "significant terrorist act in the United States" tied to Iran, federal officials told ABC News today.


The officials said the plot included the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C. Bombings of the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were also discussed, according to the U.S. officials.


U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in an announcement today that the plan was "conceived, sponsored and was directed from Iran" by a faction of the government and called it a "flagrant" violation of U.S. and international law.

If certain rightards had their way, the DEA wouldn't have been able to foil this dangerous plot on US soil, and then we'd have had a failure to protect America against attack.

I wonder why Blabo hasn't turned up yet and attempted to give Bush/Cheney/waterboarding the credit for this latest anti-terrorist victory?
 
Why is that Eric Holder knows absolutely nothing about covert operations (Fast & Furious) that end in disaster, but is presenting himself as a details guy in a covert operation that ended successfully?

I think the answer is obvious.......he needed a diversion to keep everyone from asking questions about Fast and Furious, so they decided to arrest this guy now instead of next month.......
