Now back to Reagan's amnesty program. The deal was to give amnesty to all of those who came here illegally after Kennedy weakened immigration enforcement in 1965 in exchange for better border enforcement. The argument against Reagan's amnesty program was the same as 1965 that it would be a magnet for illegal immigrants. We got the amnesty. What happened to the enforcement? How did we end up with 12 million more illegals? I thought it was supposed to be fixed.
