NK backs down on Guam

America doesn't have a rational state actor. But he's constrained by MAD, no differently than Kim.

That's a contradiction.

MAD is predicated on rational actors. It worked with the Soviets because they were evil, but rational. Until yesterday, we had to assume Kim was irrational because he acted the part; and because, here comes the important part *nobody gave a credible threat to Kim until Trump came along*.

Thanks to Trump, we now know Kim is rational. An irrational Kim would have shot at Guam and effectively committed suicide in the process.

I can assure you Iran took note of it.

Holy fuck, all we have heard for months and months is Trump will cause WW3. Now we get pompous shits like you declaring that they knew all the time that there was no need to worry.
Duh. trump backed down at the 11th hour. Kim wins again in his public's eye.

U.N gets credit for being the adult in the room, despite all efforts by the orange buffoon to have a little more 'after dinner entertainment'.

Your hatred for all things Trump related is plainly obvious and clouds your judgment.

And, the UN moved because they perceived Trump to be serious lol.

As did Kim.

Facts being facts...trump backed himself into a corner, and was very lucky that his base committed murder in Virginia over the weekend. He was able to run from his previous rhetoric, and allow Kim to win the day.

Incorrect. The U.N moved because sanctions are the way to deal with unruly world leaders. We are already seeing trade deals that purposely exclude the U.S. because of trump's policies.

Bullshit, he faced the fat bastard down and managed to get a 15-0 vote for swingeing sanctions at the UN. He also managed to get the Chinese to get off their arses and vote with their feet. Naturally you won't acknowledge what an achievement that was, as you'd rather die than admit that Trump gets anything right. Sadly that says more about your hubristic nature than anything else. He used the same playbook that JFK employed in the Cuban Missile Crisis and you know it.

sanctions are uneven in application/effective and long term, we got us a slow moving crisis

Kim doesn't have a Bowl Cut. He has roughly the same haircut as Trump supporters, aka a Nazi Haircut.

So the goal is to create a side problem and then solve it, leaving the original problem in ruins?

Trump inherited the problem from his predecessors.

Had any of them done what Trump did, it would be one less problem for Trump. But it's been appease, appease, appease, till NK was finally able to arm a missile with a nuke.

Did Trump impede that ability at all?

He created a situation, did nothing to solve it, and it turned out to be the umpteenth empty threat from NK. And you think he's a genius for it.
