Yup. If you were a white male, in that time frame, you were literally the only group basically at the center of the universe.

Women generally had no real opportunity to make enough money to be independent, even if they wanted to. POC would only be able to get work, if a white male was willing to hire them and then dictate the wage as it was a closed market.


D'uh if that is not when many white males would look back and wax nostalgically about how Great America was back then as they did not have to compete and women had no real choice but to look to them for everything.

You are correct a lot has changed and continues to change in the right direction.

That is EXACTLY why the MAGA movement is about stopping and reversing all that change. Making POC votes again worth 3/5th of a white vote, etc and trying to make women again more dependant on white males. They do teach that and they also need to teach how MAGA is against that.

So aborting a fetus is not considered 'child sacrifice' as the fetus is not recognized as a child.

Interesting, but I find it a bit contradictory that a pregnant woman is described as "with child".

IMO this is why the QOP courted the fundies and evangelicals, both of whom prefer that women do not work outside the home, are silent in church, and look to their husbands for everything. There aren't many ppl alive today who were adults in the post-war period. RWers have a longing for a past that never was, when things were supposedly simpler and everyone knew their place.

I despise the idea of anyone having to have an abortion at any time. When my wife and I got together, we decided not to have any children...so I had a vasectomy. I did not want her to go through the problems with birth control pills or the like. I took responsibility.

Unfortunately, some pregnancies occur...and either are (or become) unwanted.

What I want is for a woman (in consultation with her doctors if she chooses) to have the right to make the decision to terminate the pregnancy...and to be able to terminate as safely as current medical procedures will allow.
