Nigeria is an extremely corrupt country I wouldn't trust anything they say to be honest.

He designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern and he voiced his concerns publicly with Nigeria's President. Biden took the Country of Particular Concern designation off of Nigeria. Now Trump is turning the pressure back up on Nigeria.

Buhari did at least make an attempt to stop corruption, however it runs through every part of Nigeria and its institutions. He mostly now remembered for the huge increase in the price of rice caused by him banning rice imports in a futile attempt to encourage local growers to increase production.
