You seem to have found "relevance" regardless of the fact that I simply posted a story without comment. Now I'll give a comment. I would prefer to go into bankruptcy after getting good care in the US although I were poor than to die and not be bankrupt. Although I would also prefer to make a system that actually lowered costs and made health care affordable, then passed something to help poor people, I suggest we call it "medicaid" or something like that.

Seriously, the uninsured in this country suffer needlessly and die. If you don't have insurance you don't get care period. To go bankrupt, one must have had credit to begin with.
Your story ignores reality, but I am sure you and Eric Cantor feel good about your bullshit anyway.

Is there a credible link to support this claim? Or are we supposed to take your word for it?

In addition, buying health insurance is a choice. Many who have or don't have insurance live dangerous lifestyles that contribute to serious health problems resulting in an early death/ This idiot notion that if we just force everyone who works in this country to subsidize those who choose to live carelessly will suddenly save us from our bad habits is about as moronic as the California Legislature giving special drivers licenses to illegal aliens.

How do you like paying thousands of dollars to treat a simple injury when the homeless go to the ER instead of a walk in clinic for $150?

You are changing your premise. You claimed they were dying. If they were dying, they wouldn't need insurance. Dead people don't cost alot to take care of.

What makes you think that we will not be paying for all the subsidies these millions without income will now be given?

What makes you think these subsidies, for all these indigents and illegal aliens who now only go to the ER when they have to, will somehow cost less?

Who do you think will be paying the billions already spent to create the massive bureaucratic nightmare this entails along with the billions already spent to educate the public on this train wreck?

Tens of thousands of people over 52 believe they receive the worst treatment from the NHS as one in 10 say doctors and nurses write them off because of their age.

More than a third of all older people have experienced perceived age discrimination, with better educated but poorer retired men most at risk, new research has found.

The situation worsens with age, as just over 26 per cent of people between 52 and 59 felt victimised compared to 37 per cent of those aged between 70 and 79, the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing found.

The poorest older people were most likely to report age discrimination, and men felt they suffered more than women, the researchers found.

However, it is “particularly concerning” that 10 per cent of men and nine per cent of women over the age of 52 felt that they had received poorer service or treatment from doctors or hospitals than younger people because of their age, said Professor Andrew Steptoe, Director, Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care at UCL.

“This research on a large representative sample of older people in England shows high levels of age discrimination,” he added.

Jessica Watson, Research and Public Affairs Officer at ILC-UK, who carried out the research alongside UCL, said: “This research reveals that millions of older people perceive themselves to be on the receiving end of age discrimination.”

The care failures that led to the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust scandal are probably being replicated across NHS, according to the most detailed-ever study into the culture and behaviour of the health service.

The new report published in BMJ Quality & Safety warns that there is still much box-ticking and regulation in the NHS, with harried and distracted staff given little support and treated with a lack of respect. The researchers also criticise the indiscriminate and inappropriate use of “quality improvement” management techniques – and the almost “magical” belief that these could solve problems quickly and easily.

The study, led by Professor Michael West of Lancaster University Management School, said the focus appeared to be on making a good impression on outsiders, while staff who raised concerns were viewed as trouble-makers.
