NFL ticket sales plummet 17.9%

I’m interested in the overall numbers for the rest of the year. Rana May be right in that it will bounce back because of fickle people. In the mean time our OU tickets for the end of October were delivered today. :)

She is right.

The storm will blow over eventually but it will have taken its toll on the NFL since there's a segment of their market that they've lost for good.

The whole thing could have been alleviated had the league simply penalized Kap last summer. A simple rule like 'no political statements will be made by players once inside the stadium' or 'all players are required to maintain decorum during opening ceremonies' or whatever.

If Kap wants to use his job as an SJW platform he could do it in front of a microphone in the locker room. I'm sure the media would happily print what he had to say. If he provided statistics to back his claims---all the better.

But dragging the flag into it crossed the line. The NFL should have been aware of the danger it posed---last year.

Those who burn their tix/jerseys on Youtube don't attend the games anyway.

Someone is always whining about boycotting the NFL. Usually because, as trump agrees....they should ignore TBI and let them cripple each other on every play. Some markets (NY) are absolutely delusional when it comes to ticket prices.

The refs are getting worse, along with their confusion over how to make calls.

Once the playoffs near, the real fans will still be there.

The OP shows that ticket sales are down app. 3% in week 3. That's nothing to even discuss.

I think the damage is worse than that, but let's go with your assumptions.

Why should the NFL be 'oh well' about ANY damage to their profit margins when one simple rule would send the appropriate signal to the segment of their fan base that is offended by a thin minority of their players actions?

It doesn't make any sense.

Because right now it isn’t necessarily impacting their bottom line. They have long term TV contracts that run through 2020. Now the networks could feel the pain sooner financially if ratings drop and they have to refund money to advertisers.

football fans love football and will put up with a lot of distraction but still watch.
But don't underestimate their love for country, as it is stronger than their love for the game

They did an entire domestic violence campaign when Rice made himself infamous. It would be just as easy for them to come out against rogue cops, and let the players know that the message is important.

Or they can stop taking bribes from the military, and let the players stay in the locker room during the anthem.

How much of this has to do with the two games in LA last week? The fact that the Chargers had a home game in a soccer stadium and couldn't come to selling out might have something to do with it

That would be a winner lol.

From the player/SJW viewpoint, why can't they just leave the flag and anthem out of it? Seems simple enough.

What the hell has supporting racism and denying the right to protest against it got to do with patriotism? All rightists really care about is money, as the world knows.

How are most of the richest in the U.S. liberals? Is that the secret? Be a liberal, don't care about money, and you'll become rich?

I expect that's why you've got a liberal President. You forgot the importance of total ignorance, surely?

Please provide the asinine logic you used, to come to that conclusion.
