The National Football League is feeling the impact of the "Trump Effect."

Ticket sales since he called on team owners to fire players who take a knee to protest the National Anthem have cratered.

The online ticket reseller TickPick told Secrets that sales have dropped 17.9 percent, far more than the usual Week Three fall.

  • 17.9 percent decrease in NFL orders this week compared to the previous week.
  • Last year the drop was 10.8 percent in orders on Monday & Tuesday following Week Three games.


"We have seen a massive decrease in NFL ticket purchases this past week in comparison to years past. Week 3 seems to usually have less ticket orders than week 2, but this year ticket purchases are down more than 7 percent from this time last year," said TickPick's Jack Slingland.

fickle. Mad this week, back when their teams start winning. It's early in the season, die hards will be sneaking around to watch the games, it's just old poop pants people like philly that give it up for good!

I’m interested in the overall numbers for the rest of the year. Rana May be right in that it will bounce back because of fickle people. In the mean time our OU tickets for the end of October were delivered today. :)

The LFL just issued a video statement on the issue, saying the flag, “symbolizes all the blood, sweat and tears that have been shed so that we as Americans can raise our flag across our nation. The LFL salutes all those who make this the greatest the country in the world, and we stand in salute of our flag.”

With OJ Simpson getting out of jail, he can join his NFL teammates protesting unfair imprisonment of black people, by kneeling for the national anthem. Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman won't be in attendance however.
