NFL Players Kneel, Raise Fists During National Anthem in Preseason Games

In the sense that although you are hesitant to recognize racism .. as nearly all republicans are .. racism does indeed exist and there is a growing number of Americans who recognize it and its impact on our society.

With all due respect, that conversation can only be had among those who first recognize the shit-stain that racism has left on this nation, and secondly wants to do something about it.

"I haven't seen any oppression in this country in the past 100 years." -- Mike Ditka.

Mike Ditka has no place in that conversation.

Racism exists and it always will.

It’s part of man’s fallen state. I’m maybe not as quick to conclude racism as some are, but I absolutely recognize that it exists.

The protesting by the players shows more patriotism...

...than the pissing and moaning by the hypocrites of the right about the protesting.

Accidentally, the pissing and moaners show more patriotism in their protesting the protesting...

...than in their pissing and moaning.

Can you cry louder and more??

Do they kneel to show respect or to protest? If you kneel in church when everybody else is standing to protest God then yeah, kneeling is sh*tting on God. Of course, I spent time in the military, in part, to make sure nobody would be punished for protesting. I don't care that they are protesting. But this is false equivalence.

I no longer watch football not because I hate protests, but because politics is now part of something I go to escape that nonsense.

Don't turn the game on for 2 minutes. It lasts all afternoon. If players exercising their rights offends you, don't watch it. The game starts at the kickoff.

Easier to just not show the kneelers or the fist pumpers, isn't it...let them exercise their "rights"... but they are not why people tune into or attend a game...and I, along with Many others, enjoy the anthem without interruption...
Shouldn't have to tune in...or arrive late. Should we?

You should if you let the protests bother you.

So if someone has season tickets or buys a ticket to a game, they should show up late and go to great inconvenience because an overpaid lug-head wants to shit on our flag?

I don't theen so, Lucy.

Okay...then put up with it.

No big deal.

Either put up with it...or don't let it bother you.

Or...let it bother you and still put up with it.

The protesters owe you nothing but the game...and if they want to blow their noses, spit, scratch their asses or kneel during the anthem...you either view it or don't view it.

Or...just keep pissing and moaning.

That should get you lots!

I theen not, Lucy.

Why should I or anyone else have to wait? The game isn't about a protest, after all....
And their "protest" has nothing to do with football....

You don't have to.

Just go with the flow.

Or...stay the hell away,

If the protestors want to protest...they are going to protest.

Why should they do what you want them to do?

I think the Star Spangled Banner should be played at every sporting event. I really like it when it's sung by a group or individual...or played by a magnificent marching band...

I think the Star Spangled Banner should be discontinued at sporting events. It was originally done by the military as a recruiting tool.

Agreed!

I cannot stand the anthem being played at sporting events...especially when it is sung by singers doing a styalized version. Frankly, it sucks when sung that way.

A band playing the anthem is okay...it tends to move me emotionally. But even that should not be compulsory for a sporting event.

If a venue decides to play the anthem, however, it should be prepared to accept some protesting.

So too anyone viewing at the venue...or viewing the contest on TV.

It hasn't stopped me from watching or going, as a matter of fact. I said...let them do whatever they want. Just don't show them...and If I'm in the stadium, I'll ignore them...
Why wouldn't they do something that actually made a difference? What did they do off season to protest social injustice? Just keep doing that...

I don't know where to start ... outside of giving their OWN MONEY, TIME, RESOURCES and Civic Awareness ... and guess you can say they've done exponentially more than Don Tweety Little Thumbs.

So what exactly is wrong with AMERICAN CITIZENS exercising Free Speech and Civic Duty to their Citizens?

They ware PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness all during the Game at various times of the season  ... yea ... Funking PINK during a Football Game ... and no one gets their panties in a bunch over that.

I'll go with Bourbon's response!

PLAYER #1: “I gotta idea. Let’s protest the fact that the police are shooting so many blacks…by sitting or kneeling during the National Anthem.”

PLAYER #2: “What the hell is that gonna do? Nobody will pay attention.”

P #1: “Ya never know. Maybe some assholes will get up in arms about it…and make it a big deal for us.”

P #2: “Ya think?”

P #1: “Whatta we got to lose by tryin’?”

P #2: “K. Let give it a go.”
