NFL Players Kneel, Raise Fists During National Anthem in Preseason Games

That’s what I’ve never understood about the kneelers.

I assume they all have Twitter accounts with followers in the tens of thousands, at minimum. Use it. Get on it and type to your hearts content about social injustice. Why do something that so many people regard as inflammatory?

Also, the raised-fist has a history—represents Black Power. Enough of the racial supremacy crap. Blacks who advocate race based supremacy are no better than whites who do it.

Ironically, they couldn’t enjoy more equality.

Wow.

The bolded is not correct, for anyone who cares about facts. Power & solidarity are completely different concepts from "supremacy."

Perhaps as the season progresses these players will find a way to actually makes their concerns known in a manner that might actually be productive...talk about the issues....what's upsetting them, and what are some solutions...the sit and the kneel and the fist just isn't doing it, now, is it?

It's more about Trump sticking his flabby fat ass, into the situation!
And the players are going to do whatever,to set Trump on a infintial
Tweet storm!
Unlike the owners, the players aren't intimidated by Trump!

They've talked about it at length. One of the biggest issues is that the black community is treated differently (and not equally) by law enforcement and the justice system.

And this is undeniable. I think one of the most mind-boggling things I read & hear is when those from the white community tell them how they "should" be protesting.

 Those few players don't matter, though, when all is said and done and anyone is talking about why they're still "protesting"....
The more there is a focus on how silly their actions are, the better...

If they want to be heard, and they want it to be in prime football time, get three minutes of "PSA" time before, during, or after a game-...the kneeling and sitting and fists aren't going to do a thing. Most everyone is "telling them" how they "should be protesting". Because what they're doing now, isn't making a difference....
Things here are better because when it comes to law enforcement and the justice system people chose to sit down and talk...and work together...and interact with young people, as early as possible...
Kneeling at an NFL game wasn't Ever going to bring change....

And it’s all well and good till I start going on about ‘white power’ Lol.

Then the fun would start.

Typical - same kind of comment as "why isn't there a white lives matter group?"

Look at the philosophy and other rhetoric of those groups who espouse white power. Please get a clue.

If they want to get people talking, mission accomplished.

Protest shouldn't always be "uncontroversial." Sometimes, controversy is the point. A PSA announcement wouldn't start a national conversation. People would get their snacks during a PSA announcement.

See, this is why much of the country is stuck on race issues.

‘_____ power’ is either racist or it isn’t. If it’s racist for one group then it’s racist for all of them.

If not, it’s just more racism.

And there’s few more effective ways of getting your message out than sitting down with the president.

Yet, to my knowledge not a single kneeler has taken Trump up on the offer.

Because it brings more attention to the problem, obviously.

I agree a better form of protest is preferable to this.

Context, Darth. Context.

See, it's racist when it's accompanied by actual supremacist rhetoric.

I used to watch football as a fun escape from this nonsense, now that it is included I have no real interest.

I couldn't imagine sitting down to a great action flick only to have the first portion of the movie be a protest against abortion or some nonsense. I go to the movies to escape this nonsense too.

I understand their reasons to protest, I just don't want it melted into a mental escape.

I hear this a lot. To each his own, but I really don't see how it's possible to have it affect any kind of "escape." I usually barely watch the anthem, anyway.

Does it really trouble you so much to see it that it affects your next 3-4 hours?
