NFL chooses anti-ICE pro-migrant BAD BUNNY from Puerto Rico to do the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show

Bad Bunny is hyperpolitical in his 'music' and performances. He does all of his singing in Spanish. The combination will be a major disaster.

That's actually kind of funny.

It won't be any kind of disaster. I'm not into his music - but he is at the top of his game right now, and one of the most popular artists in the world.

Another notice of how your brain is 20 years out of date.
Do you listen to Spanish radio stations? Do you watch Spanish television regularly? Roughly 80% of the people at a Super Bowl game didn't buy their tickets personally but rather are on a corporate dime or other award program. These are not going to be Spanish speaking fans watching that halftime show. The home audience is going to overwhelmingly speak English too. They tune it out or turn it off.

I don't doubt that. What I'm saying is he's the wrong entertainer for a Super Bowl game because he's going to do his songs in Spanish and he's going to inject political content. That won't go down well with the audience or viewers. The Super Bowl management should be picking something that will play to the audience and viewers but they're not.

I'm fine with opinions. What I don't like is someone foisting them on the public at a major event that isn't intended to have political opinions foisted at it.

I'll add this: I think that a halftime show in Spanish will be a major fail as well. The vast majority of viewers of a Super Bowl don't speak Spanish, and even those that do will largely be turned off by it being Puerto Rican Spanish versus other dialects. I suspect this will be a major fail for the NFL.

LAtinos as a group frown on blatant displays of faggotry as well.

I don't need any sources, at this point, to know that this performer will be doing his show at halftime in Spanish. That is going to be a major fail on its own. With 80%+ of the audience not understanding the lyrics they will likely tune out or turn off the halftime show simply because they see nothing they connect to in it.

Opposing Trump's policies doesn't make someone anti-American. Opposing Trump's political policies at a national, non-political, sporting event during a show meant to entertain the audience does make someone a major idiot.
How do you know Bad Bunny, who you never even heard of five days ago, is going to use the Superbowl halftime show to stage an anti-Trump protest?

Donald Trump had Spanish language performers at some of his rallies.
Please show me the posts where you expressed outrage about that.

I don't watch it to begin with. That aside, WTF is "Bad Bunny," some asswipe that recites adult themed nursery rhymes to sampled tones or something?
If you don't watch it why the fuck do you care about who is half time entertainment? Do you worry about who is at the Grand Ole Opery this week if you don't watch it?

I know enough watching several of his videos to know:

1. He sings in Spanish and all of his music uses sampled beats or sampled generic Latin music. There is ZERO originality in the musical accompaniment.

2. He injects a lot of political opinion and symbolism into his songs and music videos.

As I previously pointed out, the problem with doing this at a Super Bowl event is that the Super Bowl is NOT a political event. That Trump tossed in some Spanish at some of his rallies was playing to the crowd. If he did that at say an event in Arizona, that makes sense as a good chunk of the population are Hispanic. That he would have political content makes sense too as he is doing a political event.

What you aren't grasping is the Super Bowl is non-political and a non-political event. The vast majority of the audience speaks English. To put on a half-time show that contains overt political commentary and content and is performed in Spanish makes ZERO sense. It is very likely to engender a very negative response from the audience.

Just because I don't watch it doesn't mean I can't comment on something about it. The Grand Ole Opery doesn't broadcast as a nationally televised major event like the Super Bowl does. The Super Bowl has become nearly a national holiday event now. That gives it far greater significance.

There it is. You are racist as you think Spanish at the Super Bowl is a problem.

What kind of 'tard are you? I think Spanish at the Super Bowl is a problem because it doesn't fit the venue. I think politics at the Super Bowl are a problem because it doesn't fit the venue. It's like having a volleyball game on stage as a Broadway play. Some things just don't go well together.

Why doesn't it fit the venue? Do you think no one that speaks Spanish watches football? Do you think English is an official language? This is the halftime show. Most people can't understand the words of most songs when they are sung which is why people look up lyrics.

Some small fraction of the audience does. But since the game is televised in ENGLISH one would expect them to also speak that language as well.
Do you think English is an official language?

It isn't 'on paper,' but it is pretty much in reality.

Yea, sure. People look up lyrics as some song is being sung...

You haven't provided any evidence Bad Bunny is going to be making anti-Trump political protests at the Super Bowl.

He also has the capacity to perform free and put on a big show, all at his cost, he’s the one that pays for it. Performers feel the publicity is worth the cost.
Didn't know the performers work for free so i checked copilot and they said it's true. "Super Bowl halftime performers are typically paid union scale, which is a modest amount—around $671 for the performance and roughly $1,800 for rehearsals, as was the case for Usher in 2024"
