Newt steals from fanny

I find it utterly fascinating that you blamed Barney Frank and the minority party in the Senate for not passing a particular bill that you think would have prevented the global financial crisis while the Senate Republicans failed to bring the bill up for a vote while Newt Gingrich was on retainer for Freddie Mac to woo Congressional Republicans not to regulate the GSEs and give Newt a total pass here. It blows my mind.

He received as much in contributions from the same source.

I find it incomprehensible that you would rail at somebody being employed by the company receiving money over somebody being bought with huge contributions from the same source.

So far in this thread the Ds have tried to make it "worse" to be an employee than it is to be bought directly through contributions. Have ignored total government control of two branches of government bought and paid for by the same source to try to "get Newt"...

Again, were I Newt, I would welcome this. This bag contains major goodies for republicans.

But you're the guy that blames the GSEs, and the failure of Congress to regulate them, for the global financial crisis! I don't.

It's hilarious. You have no integrity whatsoever.

I see a difference between an employee and a purchased politician.

Newt polls close enough to make a statistical tie with Obama before a primary election. Combine this with 52% of independents who will definitely vote against Obama-Obama's toast :D

But the poll shows that Newt loses to Obama even where 52% of independents definitely will vote against him. Your "toast" assertion makes no sense.

And you don't think maybe that includes some republican voters who won't say they would support Newt over Obama at this time, because they are still holding out hope for their guy/gal? The independents and undecideds are clearly enough to swing this election, and Obama isn't doing too well with them. I doubt he will pick up many TEA Party voters, regardless of who the Republican party nominates. So... ID's "toast" assertion is spot on, unless something really dramatic happens to change the dynamics of our current conditions, and you don't believe in divine miracles, do you?

This reminds me of the '08 election. I lost count of the # of times you wrote some variation of "You pinheads have NO idea what's about to happen, do you?!!!", w/ regard to the impending McCain/Barracuda obliteration of Obama.

It's a similar type of delusion. Newt literally doesn't have a prayer; he has as much chance of winning a general as a Kucinich.

Yup, I am starting to feel better and better about President Obama's second term.

It was over a few years. The funny part is that at the same time he was taking their money he was talking about how too many politicians in Washington were getting campaign donations from them. Wow, who would have thought that Newt was a hypocrite?

What do donations have to do with earned income ?

The "historian" bit is hilarious. Even Newt backed down from that characterization, Damo. Given our lengthy discussions in the past about the failure of the Republican controlled Senate to implement meaningful reforms on the GSEs at the same time that Newt was "consulting" with Freddie Mac on its legislative strategy, I find your defense of Newt quite fascinating.

And, while contracting with a company doesn't preclude you from criticizing it, lobbying Congress on behalf of the company while criticizing others for accepting donations from the company is indeed hypocritical. I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble seeing it if the former party leader were, say, Tom Daschle.

You need to brush up on your spin....its coming across as just ordinary lies and whining from a crying lefty partisan...

And what experience does Newt have that would be worth 1.6 million to Fanny Mae?

I don't have a clue...and someone said it was Freddie Mac.....so what ?

I can't imagine that people actually pay you for advise either, but thats as irrelevant as your question.

I am.....and video doesn't lie..

So Newt lobbying Congressional Republicans on behalf of Freddie Mac while the Republican controlled Senate sat on THE BILL that would have regulated the GSEs and, in your view, prevented the global financial crisis doesn't bother you one bit?

That's awesome.
