I have said before that it is not enough when Dems have power to simply return things to normal and say 'we are back to normal' as that will simply leave the door open to the next Magat like leader to use all Trump's precedents and push beyond.
What Dems need to do is use every door Trump has pushed open and push on themselves FORCING the SC to rule on them. So declare 'a war on illegal Guns' and use the same tactics in Red States around guns, profiling Bubba in a pick up truck for stop and search, etc, and see how fast the SC jumps in and sets firm rules around such tactics.
If Newsom wants Anti Deep Fake Laws that will survive SC challenges then deep fakes targeting and harming the right must be done and the SC will jump in and set rules.
You want the SC to stop gutting Congress power to check the POTUS then have an aggressive Dem Potus defying a magat congress and see how fast the SC affirms the Congress check power.
Otherwise the SC will never close the doors to these things if it is only unethical magats who will use them.
it is exactly why Magats now act like lunatics and are creating these vast unchecked powers as they believe Dems would never dare to push them anyway and thus they are only in the Magat arsenal for future use.
