You can definitely slander someone, but you cannot do it consequence free which is where the derps always get it wrong.


They think that because you have the right to say whatever you want, no company should fire you, no social media or chat site should ban, and other such dumb stuff.

Words still have consequences, even if the 1st gives you the right to say them.
 
This stupid claim from a right that wants to ban books and stop people from freely expressing their gay life in any manner

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

While i still do not think Trump will ever serve a day in a real Prison, due to the demands his Secret Service would put on any prison, to ensure his safety, ...I do not see any problem with a Judge making Trump sit in a holding cell for the weekend where Trump gets that cell all to himself and his SS.

I think the Judge will try fines first though. But I would love to see a Judge revoke his bail for a few days as punishment and remand him to a holding cell for a weekend.

Oh, dear. Another conservative that doesn't understand the 1st amendment, and that this judge is well within their rights, and that gag orders aren't just allowable, but necessary at times in court cases.

The number to watch is the Independents. As JPP proves daily, those on the Left have their man and those on the Right have theirs. It's the Independents who are the deciders.
In this case, Trump is toast. LOL

62% is a very decisive number. They aren't buying the "witch hunt" bullshit and clearly think Trump committed a crime.

Going a step further, if the Right decides to get violent over Trump, Independants are much more likely to support all Law Enforcement to shut down the criminals and those committing crimes.

Soooo....if some politician said your mom was hooking up with a judge, would you think that is closer to truth or slander?

Slander: "making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation."

BTW, the Constitution limits government, not citizens...no matter how much some people want to push toward authoritarianism, either left or right.

Some states or cities may have laws limiting lying about people. Not a lawyer, but defamation lawsuits seem to require proving damage was done over a false claim.
