Msg 51: Murder is never correct. I suppose it can be debated whether killing in self-defence is justifiable.
Msg 54. Just giving an explanation.
Msg 55. It was condoned by the Right. How many innocent civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq were dismembered? How many children had their arms and legs blown off?
What some folks fail to understand is the west not only invaded certain countries but proceeded to change the culture and laws in those countries. For example, teenage girls were protected by western armies (NATO?) so they could attend school and were permitted to go in public without a veil, not to mention “imported” western music and clothes which the natives felt condoned/encouraged sexual behavior.
Now, let’s put the proverbial shoe on the other foot. As you may be aware in southern France it is acceptable for women to go topless. Let’s say a foreign power invaded your country and told you your teenage daughter could go out in public topless and if you tried to stop her you would be shot. Would that bother you? If you turned on your TV and saw that the citizens of the country that had invaded were agreeing with their army and fully supported teenage girls going topless would that bother you? Of course, by the citizens willingly giving money to the army, through taxes, they were offering aid and comfort to your enemies. Are the people who willingly offer aid and comfort to your enemies considered your enemy? I bet George Bush would think so . And Cheney. And most on the Right. And probably those on the left and anyone in between, also.
So, whether it’s Britain or Canada or Spain or Australia or any other country with a democratically elected government that supported the invasion and cultural changes the citizens of those countries are, naturally, considered enemies by the people in those countries that were invaded. I’m surprised so many have difficulty understanding that.
