Thanks, Georgi is an Internationalist who wants the UN to control US, because he actually hates US, our Capitalistic system. What is strange is that he has used that same system to get rich, at the expense of everyone else, something that the Libs should be against, butt most Libs are hippocrats. Tom, it isn't worth giving up a right for more "security", it just isn't. Those who believe that it is are welcome to the government they so richly deserve and should directly go move someplace that has the right amount of government in all the wrong places in their lives.

I'll fight against privacy rights being taken as strongly as I'll fight for this right. The more we restrict government power over us the better our lives are and, conversely, as our rights go by the wayside so does our standard of living.

Grind is going to run off at the mouth like a moron (because he is one) but I am a bit skeptical of this study. The author appears to be a conservative hack.

That does not mean I support gun control. Just that I would not rest my support on what looks a little shaky.

The mediaite column DEFINITELY overstates the import and scope of the study. I don't think the mediaite article's author read the study, just the abstract. The study appears to be based on comparing entire states to each other based on whether they restrict concealed carry or not and whether they have a ban on assault weapons. That's it. Not every supposed "gun control myth" was examined.

It will be interesting to see how it is received by those qualified to analyze it. Comparing entire states is probably not granular enough and nearly every state is "shall issue." Further, it is likely that states with high murder rates are more likely to feel the need to pass stricter gun control laws. So I am curious how he controlled for that.

I would think that concealed carry permits would lead to less crime. The permit process favors stable and law abiding individuals.
