New hurricane to follow

Landfall is projected for 9/8 or 9/11?

I'm in Florida too, N. Florida. So you think it will miss us?

9/8 is a projection for that date only. Each day I'll be able to read the projected path more reliably. Tomorrow, I'll see what things look like for 9/9. The truest reliability is within 5 days out from the current date which right now of course is 9/3. Beyond 9/8 I can only feel about 80% correct about those conditions in the wind currents. I'm in central FL. Right now it appears that we'll have enough upper air currents coming down from the north to keep this thing pushed just off our coast. If this this course remains in place we would have a lot of strong winds blowing at us from the N.E. Those millibars are so low already, which shows it's quite possibly going to be a Cat 5. It just doesn't appear that FL would take a direct hit with the eye. I'm checking a few other things as well from old charts I kept from my college days studying meteorology. I think the most precise info we will get from the pros on TV will be around Tuesday or Wednesday, 9/6. Will keep you posted.

The OBX, it's a Hurricane magnet.

I've been run out of there twice by two different hurricanes and stayed through two tropical storms. I did drive right by Jim Cantore on the way out, last time. He was standing along side the road in Rodanthe.

He looks shorter in person lol.

LOL...I'm 5'11'..........they're all short.

Please do. I don't worry much about these if they're a cat 2 or 3 so much, but a 4 or 5 is a different story. At least you're in Central FL where if it did reach you, it would lose strength by the time the impact hit you.

not by much..If it lands near us we get whacked in central Florida

Nothing like being closer to the coastline. The beach is about 25-30 miles away from me but I think I would still leave if a category 5 was hitting. Especially after watching Harvey.

Ya I doubt we'd get coastal flooding but the wind and rain would be much the same

Small government people are the first criticize and cut government spending, lower taxes on the rich, and also the first to hold out their hands asking to get bailed out by the federal government.

Is that a fact, canuck?

Let's see some statistics that show a correlation between "small government people" and the average lag time between a natural disaster and their requests for aid.

I've lived through Donna & Betsy as a kid.

I was living in my home town of Miami and went through Andrew. Luckily I was living in a house built in the 1920's made out of Cuban limestone built like a fortress. Nothing...I mean nothing moved, shook, leaked in that thing! LOL Loved it, safest structure I ever lived in.

Unfortunately, I was living in Port St. Lucie right on the Intracoastal Waterway across from Hutchinson Island in 2004. I got slammed by both Frances 9/16/04 & Jeanne 9/26/04. They were only 10 days apart and we got a royal beat-down with direct hits from both...what a nightmare!

I have to agree with Noise. Now I live in Ocala. I'll take living by the coast any day when it comes to storms. The threat of tornados are greater inland. And, there's no way to prepare for a tornado, lie down and go to sleep with some kind of peace of mind like I can with just wind and water coming through.

It depends just how far offshore the storm will be. Irma looks to be large, so the bands would be far-reaching. Maybe just head for Tallahassee and get a room for the night if it makes you more comfortable. Keep in mind though that one good thing is we will be on the west side (left side) of the storm which is always the "weaker" side. It would still be pretty powerful though if it attains Cat 5 status.

Try and ignore those who want to politicize things like this. They don't understand that one of main things that feds are responsible for is the safety of its citizens. They don't get the difference between disasters with temporary help and ongoing welfare.

Well I know nothing about weather/meteorology so I'm glad to converse with someone who has some insight.

I'm just hoping it goes out to sea or pulls far away from the coastline on it's track upward.

Do you think we will know by Tues. around where it may make landfall?

Except Texas senators and representatives voted against aid to Hurricane Sandy victims. Only rural hicks WASPs deserve federal aid, not "elite" urban centers. Fuck em. Let em die. They deserve as much sympathy as they gave to us. Kill all the fucking Nazis, you fucking animal. You and you're progeny all deserve death, you're a right wing animal, you aren't a fucking human and you deserve a fucking bullet. I'm glad these hurricanes, caused by the climate change you deny, are killing you. This is fucking karma and you fucking deserve it you piece of worthless human animal garbage. You took away my freedom, God is taking away your life, you stupid fascist animal.

Stay on the fucking coast Trump Diva, take a boat out for it, hope you and your family all die due to the climate change you deny. Fucking karma. I hope you die you piece of garbage, you took away our freedom and imposed a fascist dictatorship on us, you're evil, God is punishing you.
