It seems that you are saying that these ads are justified as long as they produce a winner. In the UK, we have a system of party political ads, where the total number of minutes are allocated according to the votes garnered in the previous election. They have to be shown on all of the terrestrial channels, are free and subject to tight scrutiny. We do not allow paid for TV ads, although print media including newspapers, magazines and hoardings are allowed.
