They should have put his ashes on a rocket... Buried in orbit...

Well, we don't have shuttles anymore, so we'd have to ask the Russians, who MIGHT find it a tad funny that they're the only ones who could ferry the ashes of the man who beat them to the moon. Cosmic (literally) irony.

Nah, we have military rockets that put stuff into orbit all the time. And you can even pay for the privilege of having a portion of your ashes travel along...

James Doohan was "buried" in orbit.

It would be appropriate for Neil Armstrong, or perhaps even having his ashes saved and scattered on the Moon, when we return.

But, after all, he was a Navy Pilot. He flew 78 combat missions over Korea.

You know this is a rather ironic choice by Mr. Armstrong. He took a lot of flack by his military colleagues during his career as a civilican test pilot and in NACA/NASA because he was a civilian. Goes to show you how much he treasured his service in the Navy. You squids should feel honored.

I read something the other day that I liked and showed his dry sense of humor. Apparently Armstrong liked to tell goofy moon jokes. When they didn't laugh he would say 'I guess you had to be there".

I like it.
