THats a bit more relevant than what Senator Obama's wife might have said... Dont you think, or is racism more relevant from the wife of the canidate than the canidate himself?

You know it would matter. And it should.

If you married a Drug Addict who used illegal presciption drugs that she stole from the non-profit she was in charge of, you would not be able to gain prominence in your party, regardless of the excuse, "It's my wife, not me!"

That works just the same.
 
BTW Cindy McCain also used the names of her employees to procure prescriptions without their consent.

I know. I just thought I would answer you in a way that was consistent with Damo's comment about if the "Whitey" thing is true. It is a double standard, being married to someone that stole prescription drugs from an organization and having you get her out of the trouble doesn't show a problem in the eyes of the Republicans because that's all they have now.

Racism is relevant. If she really did use a racially charged term then it would matter, and it would be a big deal even if you didn't want it to be and it wasn't a big deal "to you"...

It does. As I said, I think it does matter and is part of his crappy numbers.

It feels like a Dole moment to me.
 
What shouldn't be overloooked is how quickly the myths about what segments Obama couldn't attract is proving to be untrue.

The general election season has just begun and McCain is in trouble already and the more that shiny armor is peeled away the uglier the man inside looks.
 
Just like the polls in past elections at this point in the cycle......wrong then and probably wrong now.....

Yeah, but it's really much more than a 'turn.' Bush has so fundamentally changed the face of the GOP; an entire generation of voters has formulated their political opinion during his tenure, and that ain't good news for Republicans.

The Dems are looking at a potential filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, and padding their already fairly large advantage in the House by at least 10-20 seats, in addition to taking the White House. You Bushies are going to be in the political wilderness for a long, long time; deservedly so.
 
And I hope we don't see anything like them again in a long time, it is going to take long enough to get this administration out of our system!
