The Almighty
(1) We can find out why the producer did it without knowing the producer's name.
(2) I don't know if Zimmerman is a racist, but I know that he acted on the basis of Martin's race that night.
(3) It doesn't hold NBC accountable at all. To the extent it can be argued that it does, there are other ways of doing it without revealing the producer's identity.
Tell me Dung, if in the Qwest case had we heard from Qwest that 'we fired the person responsible' would you have been so adamant about protecting the identity of those responsible?
Why do you think that person deserves anonymity? You have offered no justification that makes any sense. This wasn't a small error. Without knowing the persons name, other media outlets/public/etc... will never know that person's side of the story first hand. All we will keep hearing is the official NBC sanitized version of events.
The actual 911 tapes were publicly available to anyone and were posted on a shitload of websites. If NBC had exclusive access you'd have an argument, but that's not the case. I seriously doubt that the Today show really has that much reach.
Yet the NBC version went fucking viral. It was posted on this board that has a few hundred people as members (less as regular members) it was used by many as reason to believe that Zimmerman was a racist. Yet you 'doubt the Today show has much reach'... fucking unbelievably HILARIOUS.
