The Uvalde cops had the guts. There were plenty who wanted to go in. The problem was a Command and Control issue and how the Critical Incident system is set up. In Uvalde, the breakdown came from the Chief of Police. After Uvalde, every municipality better have reviewed their plans with a Plan B, C and D to prevent breakdowns by key figures.

I would prefer cops who can think, and act, on their own in the seconds that count. It was obvious (didn't they see him go in?) there was one individual shooting kids and adults in that school. There should have been no need to "wait for orders." They should have gone right in and shot that lunatic on sight.

How many Blue on Blue shootings have happened because a cop rushed in with insufficient authority, insufficient jurisdiction and insufficient formation?

Admittedly, Ulvalde was an extreme, but the problem remains the same. Uvalde didn't have Plan B. It all fell apart when the Chief of Police, who was more politician than cop, failed to do his job. A larger city like Nashville didn't have that problem.

I've said many times that overzealous cops are dangerous. Shooting, or even harming the unarmed is going over the line.
But when there is gun fire in a school, that is sufficient evidence to do something, not wait for plans to be made and orders given.
The cops who killed this transgender thing didn't wait for orders. How many lives did they save?

RB, I guarantee you the police who entered the building had orders to do so. They went in as a team, not just the first cop to show up at the site.

I'm a member of the Civil Air Patrol, but all volunteers who participate in law enforcement or First Responders are required to take the free FEMA courses covering how our system works. I had to take courses that were above the level I'd ever desire to participate, but you may find it more interesting.

Bullshit. Waiting killed kids, lots of kids. This ain't rocket surgery. I am surprised the Chiel of police made it through the first five minutes of slaughter without a buttstroke to the chin from one of his own.
