My theory on why the American press is suddenly anti-biden

This is really what it's come down to. The MSM can't run cover for Biden when he's fucked up so royally there is no cover they can use without looking completely idiotic or lying in doing so.

they are telling it like they see it. they always have. we democrats accept mistakes to be exposed and reported, like with cuomo and biden. we don't start yelling fake news and call the press the deep state or deep trump stooges out to lie about them. biden could have done better. but it is not catastrophic. it is not a slaughter, or a bloodbath, and he can make it right.

Yea, sure...

In Cuomo's case he was a media darling even as his orders to put Chinese Disease patients in nursing homes killed thousands. The MSM said next to nothing about his covering this up either. Then along came a sex scandal and even then, the MSM at first was on Cuomo's side.
With Biden, same thing. The whole Bagman thing is rarely mentioned. Can you imagine how the MSM would have gone after Trump if one of his kids did that shit? They've run cover for Biden on the border fiasco. Sure, they report on it some, but it isn't given much coverage and certainly isn't made out to be the national disaster it actually is.
Biden lies and the press ignores it.

Hear anything on Harris' trip to Asia? You likely won't hear much because she'll fuck it up like her disastrous Central American trip turned out.
On Afghanistan Biden sat on vacation in Camp David for almost a week before saying anything about the biggest foreign policy disaster in decades. The media didn't hammer him for his lack of timely response and really didn't hammer him about the crap bag response he finally did give.

Newsome looks like he's finished in Cali but the MSM barely talks about that. Instead, they pillory every chance they get one of the most likely to succeed him after a recall, Larry Elder.

The MSM doesn't play it straight. They clearly take sides. CNN might as well be the propaganda and news arm of the DNC as but one example.

One of the problems with the democrats strategy in that scenario is that most, if not all, of the problems under Trump were contrived by the media. Imagine how much better things would be if our biggest ‘problem’ was worrying about whether Biden was present when two Russian prostitutes peed on a bed. People would scratch their head at it while pumping $1.86/gallon gas into their car.

Same ditto for all the Trumpian drama, more generally. It was noisy, the media was in a *constant* state of agitation over…whatever, but it had little to no effect on people’s day to day lives. People—including record minorities, were working and content.

We traded those ‘problems’ for a host of *real* problems under Biden and the Democrats.

Regarding the OP it’s been theory all along that if/when they were getting ready to dump the Big Guy the first sign of that would be the media turning on him.
 
Biden showed the guts to do what the American people wanted. That is to end that damn 20year war. He said it would be chaotic when leaving. It is an ugly process. But he has moved over 30,000already. Biden is the president of the people.

What Presidency were you watching?

Trump failed utterly in responding to our worst racial crisis & division since the '60's. Trump destroyed America's reputation around the world. Trump failed families at the border. How is the Middle East doing these days? He didn't replace Obamacare "quickly and easily," as he promised.

And man, did he fail with the biggest crisis of his Presidency: COVID. Daily mixed messages and sewing confusion. There was no leadership on masks or distancing, he was anti-testing (which is laughable during a pandemic), he had no economic plan to counter the adverse effects of the virus. He was an absolute mess, and the economy spiraled downward because of it.

He also did long-term damage to faith in our elections and to the very fabric of our nation.

Trump will go down as the worst President in our history. His action & inaction weren't things that had "little or no effect." He was a disaster. He didn't lose because people didn't like his personality - he lost because he had no qualifications for the job he was in, and failed.

Trump or any Republican President would be getting absolutely skewered just on inflation and the wretched job numbers. But the media is predominantly Team Biden so *they want* him to succeed. But the Afghanistan debacle was a bridge too far.

If Biden loses the media he’s done. He’s not Trump, he can’t survive without them. If that happens it will force the democrats hand. Probably the 25th Amendment.

I'm not thrilled w/ Biden, but he's head & shoulders above the previous admin.

Afghanistan was going to fall apart when we left regardless. We were there for close to 2 decades. It was time. They're doing what they're able to in order to get people out safely, but we can only do so much.

I was watching the presidency with the excellent economy, relative peace on the world stage, crushed ISIS on the world stage, bitch slapped the Mullahs into submission on the world stage, signed an historic Middle East peace Treaty, etc etc.

And all of this, in spite of *unprecedented* attacks from the media, his own intelligence agencies, the FBI and a House Speaker that apparently thought she was born into the world for the express purpose of impeaching Donald Trump. And oh yeah, he survived a Special Council investigation. Pretty remarkable, huh?

And 18 months into a pandemic caused by the CCP, it’s become apparent to every clear thinking individual that there hasn’t been a president created that was going to do anything but ‘botch’ the Covid response, without vaccines, in 2020.

How’s Biden doing with it?
