Every Veteran's Day I try and contact every veteran I know, to express my thanks for their service. I try and make it a phone call, but I have no number for many of them.
I saw a piece online recently that says it clearly.
A “Veteran”, whether active duty, discharged, retired or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America” for an amount “up to and including his life”.
To all veterans, I personally thank you for your service.
