My health insurance...Thank you President Obama!

So 'high cholesterol' was your pre-existing condition that caused you to be uninsurable?

Now I am absolutely calling bullshit.

A pre-existing condition is a medical condition that a person has before applying for health insurance. The condition must have been treated by a doctor and recorded in the medical history of the patient to qualify as a pre-existing condition. According to HealthReform.gov, a pre-existing condition can be a major or minor illness, ranging from cancer to asthma, depending on state laws and various insurance company rules. As of 2009, 45 states allow insurance companies to refuse coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Which illistrates how completly unawaire of how bad the problem was that required Health Care Reform.

Damocles, My understanding was that the State Program was harder to get, not as good and almost twice as expensive.

See how ignorant of the true problem this guy is, no wonder he was okay with health care policy staying where it was.

Again, while it is certainly a pre-existing condition, it is NOT one that is routinely used to deny coverage. I underwrite people for health policies constantly and have never, not once, been denied coverage for someone with high cholesterol.

Perhaps actually READING the article yourself will help in understanding the issue....

High blood pressure and high cholesterol by themselves are not usually considered pre-existing conditions, but if both are present, many insurance companies will refuse coverage.

There is very little chance Jarod was refused coverage by every insurance company in Florida because of high cholesterol. It is an easily treated condition. But I am sure he will now come on and tell us he had something else.

Jarod is quite simply full of shit. He is making it up because he wanted to start a thread telling us all how Obamacare saved him.... blah blah blah....

Given that Damo is more aware of the situation in FL (while living in CO) than Jarod (who lives in FL), I think that is a pretty good indicator that Jarod is making it up.

Perhaps your experience is not universal.

You of all people should avoid calling someone else ignorant Jarod. Only you would be stupid enough to proclaim you were denied coverage for a condition that rarely, if ever, gets someone denied coverage.

Perhaps your experience is not universal.

Yeah, it is pretty universal. There is a very tiny chance a smaller insurance company might have denied coverage, but Jarod has proclaimed he was denied by all the big boys too... and that is just not true.

As I stated, Jarod is making this shit up so that he can proclaim Obamacare 'saved' him.

"High blood pressure and high cholesterol by themselves are not usually considered pre-existing conditions" is not the same as "high collesterol is not a pre-existing condition."

Also, maybe Jarod isn't interested in disclosing his actual pre-existing condition to a bunch of strangers on the internet. Maybe?

I dont know about every insurance company in Florida. I do know about three of the major insurance companies in Florida.

Or maybe he is making shit up because he doesn't want to disclose his actual pre-existing condition to a bunch of strangers on the internet? You can doubt Jarod all you want, but there are lots of people for whom the denial (or recission) of coverage based on pre-existing conditions was a real problem that the Affordable Care Act resolved.

LMAO... then why the FUCK would he make one up rather than just say 'I would rather not disclose it'.... and given his anonymity, I find your excuse for him rather laughable.

As for your parsing of words... as I stated, they qualify it because some smaller carriers may deny coverage, but the larger ones do NOT. There is no way Jarod was denied coverage due to high cholesterol. He is LYING.

You are defending him because he praised your master.

LMAO... amazing how you hacks continue to defend this nonsense of Jarods in order to defend your messiahs health care fiasco. Jarod is lying. Obama care is not a solution, it is now part of the problem. Yes, people were denied coverage and they are the ones we need to help. No need to cram Government health care down the throats of the entire population in order to cover them.

I dont know about every insurance company in Florida. I do know about three of the major insurance companies in Florida.

The major carriers do NOT deny coverage based on high cholesterol Jarod. It is easily treated and is NOT a pre-existing condition they use to deny coverage. Period. You are lying. Period.

Freak, I have the document from Golden Rule Insurance Company denying me for High Cholestrol. If you PM me your email address Ill forward it to you with my personal information redacted.

I'm not defending Jarod. Jarod's a big boy and doesn't need me speaking for him. I'm just pointing out that there are alternative explanations and that you're an asshole.

Nevertheless, I don't really doubt Jarod's story since (1) heath insurers are not entitled to the benefit of the doubt (2) you have nothing that says that high cholesterol can never be a re-existing condition sufficient to deny coverage and (3) I know that BCBS rescinded a policy for failure to mention high cholesterol.

And like I said, whether Jarod personally benefitted or not, denials of coverage for pre-existing conditions was a very real problem for millions of people. Now it isn't.

Thanks for admitting you are defending him. Yes, Jarod does need your help because he is a fucking idiot. Notice how he glommed on to every comment made by Rana. He knows he is making it up and is looking for a reason to continue his charade. Someone who didn't want to disclose their actual condition would have just stated as such in most cases. If they were going to make one up, they would have at least been intelligent enough to make one up that actually gets denied coverage. As I stated, he is lying and you are covering for him because he said something nice about your master. Sorry if the truth hurts.

I did not say it NEVER is the sole cause for denial of coverage you fucking hack. I stated the case of where it could be. But that doesn't change the fact that the major carriers DO NOT deny coverage on that alone. READ the article Rana wrote, it states it clearly there. You can google a hundred more sites that will state the same. Bottom line, there is NO way that all three major carriers Jarod went to denied him coverage.

Your pathetic, 'i believe jarod because I hate insurance companies' just goes to show that you really don't care about the truth of the matter, you just want to bash the insurance companies and praise your masters Obamacare fiasco.

Also moron, there is BIG difference between getting denied coverage for high cholesterol and getting denied coverage for LYING on the application. LYING gets you disqualified 99.9% of the time.

All Praise Obamacare!

Much easier for you to just type the above rather than going on and on....

You said you could not get it "at any cost", an utter and complete fabrication. Then when you get caught out you move the posts. It's nonsense. You didn't even "understand" that somebody would be able to point out you were flat lying and that you could get insurance, even before Obama's health care malformation passed.
