My health insurance...Thank you President Obama!

Not in the past three months. Again. I reject his claim because he was flat lying. I tried to give him an out, but he refused to take it. It is correct to say that he had available coverage through different means.

But you were wrong about it just being Kaiser and that high-risk Floridians could get coverage through the pool from someone else?

That's possible. I may have crossed arguments...

I was talking about his particular situation where he said in the "past three months" he was rejected for those reasons and could not get any coverage "at any cost"...

It is utter bull. I actually hadn't looked pre 2010... Once I found they passed and implemented a high-risk pool in January of 2010 and it was still going I had no reason to look further. Although I did find a link (same as yours) about Kaiser not accepting new pool members.

(Can't let emotion get to this... It's always possible I am wrong.)

Okay, now that we got that straight ( I should have been a dentist! Plus, hello, nitrous oxide?) you are stating that Jarod couldn't have been denied coverage in the past three months because in 2010 florida began using federal funds for its high-risk pool. However, Jarod never claimed he was turned down by the high risk pool. This was his claim:

"I have been denied by three major health insurance companies for basic coverage within the last three months."

He later claimed he could not get any coverage "at any cost"...

First I pointed out that he had available coverage. He then claimed he did not "at any cost". He was still claiming it just a few posts ago. It's utter rubbish. Nonsense, utter and total garbage, made up nonsense.... And after being caught like that one shouldn't try to push the stupid onto me as if I can't check. It was total bull. All of his claim is a lie.

Yes, it's remotely possible you were wrong.

And out here on planet earth, you were just shown to be wrong.

But we'll stick with, it's remotely possible you could have been wrong once. Let's keep emotional claims like "you were wrong" out of this. I hate those kind of wrenching scenes! And while I've got the acting chops for them, I don't think you do. We'll keep this completely logical.

Once again, what does this have to do with me not being able to afford it, I was denied coverage AT ANY COST. Not because I could not afford it but because I have high cholestrol. You dont understand the problem, that is why you oppose the solution. You assume that anyone who cant get coverage cant get it because they are poor. While that would be a good reason to change the health care system, the problem is MUCH worse than that. Middle Class people are being denied health care at any cost for simple pre-existing conditions like high cholestrol.

Right here, if you must see it to believe it...

So, in the "past three months" he was denied coverage "at any cost"... That isn't true. For the reasons previously assigned. (The fact that his state has high risk pools, etc.)

How is it made up? If he was denied coverage by private carriers three months ago, at any cost, (this could be true) and was now accepted by some federally-funded high risk pool, how on earth is this a false claim?

Now SF's claim is that those carriers do not deny anyone for what Jarod says he has. That'd be the next thing I'd have to prove was incorrect, which I bet I can do with another google. I believe that SF has never seen it happen, I believe that he has written a lot of policies, but I also believe that somewhere, it happened to someone.

I have to say, no one has proved that Jarod lied here. Fine if you don't want to believe him, but these ugly claims that he is a flat-out liar, are overboard IMO. And you haven't proved them.

How do you know he wasn't talking about the insurance companies who turned him down and what on earth is so outlandish about that claim?

Because he says he was denied all coverage later in the thread "at all costs", including his last few posts.

Jarod flat lied.

Darla:

Do yourself a favor and just stop. Based on past experience, Damo will never admit to being wrong. You will have to dig out from an inordinate amount of bullshit (like the claim that Florida passed a high-risk pool in January 2010) and then, once you do that, he will just resort to unsubstantiated intentionally vague generalities that can neither be proven nor disproven.

LOL... yes, it can happen... which is what I stated, but generally speaking it is smaller carriers that do it. RARELY does a large carrier do it for high cholesterol. For all three large carriers Jarod claims to have gone to to ALL reject him the odds are astronomical.

Even RANA's link stated that it is not usually considered a pre-existing condition that would cause denial. How many links do you need?

He is fucking lying.... either about what he was denied for or more likely the fact that he was denied at all. Once caught, he has continued to try and spin and many on the left on this board keep trying to defend him. For what purpose I do not know.

But everything he is saying REEKS of a lie.

Because Darla, he stated he would not have been able to get coverage without OBAMA CARE. That is 100% false.

Dung: Do yourself a favor and stop being a douche bag. Jarod is the one that is in the wrong here. Yet you keep trying to defend him. Jarod is lying. Period. Yet you rush to defend him because he said something nice about your master.

Okay SF, let me ask you something. Since Florida's high risk pool was closed to new enrollees, how would Jarod have obtained insurance coverage if it's true that the private carriers denied him?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Starting in 2010, Florida started offering health care insurance coverage to residents through the federally established temporary high-risk pool program. To find out more about Florida's participation, click here.

Through this program? HOw did this program get established in 2010? I am wondering it was part of so-called "obama care"! And if it wasn't, again, who established it? It's a federal program. 2010.

Hmmm. :)

I know you hate Jarod, but I don't see the lie sorry.

Don't I know it!

Um... it wasn't closed to him at the time he claimed, and the high risk pool was available previous to the passing of Obamacare. It's pretty cut and dry.

Basically a program passed and available in January of 2010 (passed in 2009) is not due to a program passed in March of 2010.

Again, he is blatantly lying about not being able to get coverage because of high cholesterol. It is NOT a pre-existing condition that results in denial of coverage. It just ISN'T. Period.

I don't HATE Jarod. I think Jarod is a LIAR and an idiot. Big difference.

Did he claim that the high risk pool was closed to him? I thought he claimed that he enrolled in the high risk pool program. Prior to the passing of the Affordable Care Act, the state high risk pool was closed to new enrollees.

What any of that has to do with whether Jarod was denied coverage by three major carriers is beyond me, though.

Edit to respond to your edit: What program are you talking about passed in 2009 and available in 2010? Can you provide a link?

And I like Jarod. I always have. Since our first debate (it was about abortion, he thought nobody could make an argument against it that didn't refer to the Bible).
