i am not a homosexual, though i have family who are. the issue of gay "rights" in america is a losing battle with the current conservative/gop thought process on the issue. if you want a theocracy, think real hard about what you're wishing for. do you want the catholic church to rule your life? to be in control of, the majority, of the government?

according to GOD'S word, homosexuality is a sin. love the sinner, not the sin. look who jesus forgave and had as followers. i'm tired of christians bashing homosexuals simply because they like the person of the same sex. further, i'm tired of people trying to make this country a theocracy by clamoring that people of the same sex should not be married.

marriage is SOLELY a contract in this country. the contract you sign with the state has NOTHING to do with religion.

there is no getting around the facts, unless you change the constitution.

For me its an issue of freedom of association. Regardless of my sexuality, I should be able to marry and form contracts with whomever I want.

Get the fuckin' Koolade out of your systems and realize there are no 'gay' rights.....no "senior" rights.....no "African American" rights.....no "liberal" rights, no "conservative" rights, or any other kind of rights except the rights WE ALL ENJOY as citizens of the country.....
We all have the same rights, live by the same rules, obey the same laws......

Glad you agree. There are only human rights and one of those is freedom of contract and association.

My perspective on apathy, since we're sharing, is kinda one of apathy. I don't care who you marry or what gender they are, so I sere no reason to restrict you from marrying whatever gender you choose.

On a pragmatic level one more gay male couple is two more available potential women for the bachelors out there!

Your last sentence is nonsense. It would only make sense if every available woman was heterosexual.

There wa some stat I saw that men were more likely to be gay than women, anyway I'm already in a relationship* so it matters not to me how you justify it.

*yes it's a heterosexual relationship before you ask.

M'eh. It's all good.

I have no issue with gay people getting married anyway. I don't think it is our business to worry about the lives and religious views of others. So long as everybody is a consenting adult with full knowledge I could care less what they do to each other or whether they want to be "married"...

It's their lives, I'm not here to run them.

That is such a fantasy, you being a white male would say such a foolish thing.

GOP Memo Admits Plan Could 'Keep Black Vote Down'

October 25, 1986|From the Washington Post

NEWARK, N.J. — A Republican National Committee official calculated that a so-called ballot security program in Louisiana "could keep the black vote down considerably," according to documents released in federal court Friday.

The documents and court hearing were the latest developments in a controversy over the GOP's ballot program that Democrats maintain is aimed at reducing minority turnout. The Republicans say the program's sole purpose is to purge ineligible voters from voting roles.

Sickening, truly sickening.
