I think at least one of those is a Thomas Jefferson quote. But I could be mistaken and I am too lazy to google them.
I think I heard Louie Farrakhan say that ....or was it some Ayatollah.....•"All Americans must recognize that the face of terror is not the true faith -- face of Islam. Islam is a faith that brings comfort to a billion people around the world. It's a faith that has made brothers and sisters of every race. It's a faith based upon love, not hate."
Then you were right , he was an asshole. All of em GWBush...
Yes I would. I pay top dollar to live in a high end community like Dublin. We need those trailer trash seeking mouth breathers like we need another raise in our property taxes. FUCK THAT!
yeah, the fbi types would use up all of the parking spots
besides, last time i checked the kkk is not a religion
...I don't think I need to remind anyone that the KKK happens to be a Christian group...
Not trying to take sides; but would you object to the KKK buy a church, in your neighborhood, and using it for meetings and recruitment??
Seriously?
Instead of answering, I want you to think through it again, more carefully.

When was the KKK religious? Seems more pagan to me. Klegals, wizards, burning crosses?
There are plenty of Christian Theocrats in the Republican party... do we want to ban Churches?

Hate & intolerance is alive & well in America, in case no one knew. It's amazing for me to hear people refer to practicing Muslims as the enemy, and say thing like "they attacked us on 9/11!" or "their goal is to destroy us!"
Just so the Archie Bunkers know (and I'm looking your way, Dixie & bravo), Islamic extremists attacked us on 9/11. These are people who I don't even consider to be religious; they are just using the religion as a prop for their political goals.

I would much rather hear your answer.
Onceler:
Are you going to answer the question, regarding the KKK having a "church" in your neighborhood, or have you realized that you once again talked your way into a corner and now you can't find a way out??
To save you the trouble of racking your memory, I've posted our parts of the exchange.
USFREEDOM, you have missed the point of this thread entirely. It has flown at a comfortable altitude above your head, which is not surprising.
The point - which I shouldn't have to explain to a grade schooler - is that it's idiotic to generalize about a religion based on its extremists elements. I would no more support the KKK setting up something in my neighborhood as I would Al Qaeda; both advocate violence, and use religion as a cover for their hate & violence.
Fortunately, it's not Al Qaeda setting up this mosque. But the fact that you are making this kind of analogy indicates that you missed that point completely.
I'm glad we had this conversation.
