A student senator at Washington University is being accused of snatching up 2,977 American flags to commemorate the lives lost in the 9/11 terror attacks on the 20th anniversary before throwing them in trash bags.

Fadel Alkilani, who serves as chairman of the student senate finance committee at the St Louis, Missouri university, is allegedly seen filling blue trash bags with the minature flags used as part of the 9/11: Never Forget Project memorial.



Late Saturday, Washington University officials condemned the removal of the flags but declined to say whether the student would be disciplined, according to Student Life, the university’s student newspaper.

Meanwhile, Alkilani allegedly boasted about the act on his Twitter, which has since been set to private.

Dad's a doc in town...that might help....but I doubt he's too thrilled with the publicity....then again....the son has been posting loud mouthing on social media since he was 15...so....
 
He did not deny taking down the memorial and being in possession of it....to label at another time...that is an admission of guilt.... It was his memorial to bother, alter, change, take down, label, move, trash, or otherwise....
 
No denial of the destructive actions taken to ruin the memorial...and he told us why he did it....
 
Police stopped an attempt to ruin the memorial the night before....so early morning when everyone...well almost everyone, was asleep, was the way to go...oops...
 
The University states the process for possible punishment is not fast...and there there will be access to campus while it happens...Very fair...
I'm sure they have rules about interfering with the property of other students...particularly in this case....
 
It's impossible to deny something when your hands are full of bags of flags from the memorial....
