Its pretty disturbing to see the vast majority of republicans either trembling in fear of some mosque in lower manhattan, or egging on the wingnut crusade against it. I guess after 8 years of Bush worship and Iraq war mongering, it might be expected. But, it's catching me off-guard. It's way beyond reason; it's on the fringes of nuttery. What the f are you dudes afraid of, and how the f is this mosque a "slap" in the face to any sane person? Its not even on freaking ground zero. I mean, what are we living in - the dark ages? Why do you stubbornly refuse to be educated about the teachings of islam? If you got your head out of your ass and realized that Islam itself teaches violent conversion and religious tyranny, you wouldn't be such a disturbed dipshit.

Because I don't put any stock in what wingnuts cut and paste from the Koran, on message boards. Every religious book has some crazy ass shit in it, including the bible. The vast a majority of people, including christians, ignore the crazy shit, and I presume focus on the moral teachings.

I base my opinon of muslims on the multitude of muslim friends, co-workers, peers, and aquaintences I've met from across the planet. Oddly enough, none of them ever tried to suicide bomb me.

can any of you wingnuts provide me a plausible and reasonable explantion for why I should either be terrified, or offended by an american muslim mosque several blocks away from the former WTC? I actually haven't read anything that passes the laugh test.
