A medical test being developed by Kuwait will be used to 'detect' homosexuals and prevent them from entering the country – or any of the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC), according to a Kuwaiti government official.

GCC member countries – Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates – already deem homosexual acts unlawful.

This controversial stance is being toughened, according to Yousouf Mindkar, the director of public health at the Kuwaiti health ministry.

He told Kuwait newspaper Al Rai: ‘Health centres conduct the routine medical check to assess the health of the expatriates when they come into the GCC countries. However, we will take stricter measures that will help us detect gays who will be then barred from entering Kuwait or any of the GCC member states.’

Those taking part in homosexual acts in Kuwait, if they’re under 21, can receive a jail sentence of up to 10 years.



Earlier this month Oman newspaper The Week was suspended over an article that was deemed to be sympathetic to homosexuals, according to the BBC.

It’s illegal to be gay in 78 countries, with lesbianism banned in 49. Five countries mete out the death penalty to gay people – Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen and Mauritania.

Fantastic. these are our ALLIES in the region - the Sunni Gulf States; not that the Shi'a states are any better.

Time for the US to move to a non-aligned status in the region; have talks with Iran, and stop worrying about the Shiite Crescent

DY has stated that he wished all the queers were dead. Other neocons have wished all gays would go away. The fact that someone doesn't search thru hundreds of pages of posts does not change the fact that these things were said.

I don't know that there is a reliable way to do it, but it's something that has been done before and I believe is used in certain parts of the United States to measure recidivism among sex offenders. Basically, you get hooked up to sensors that measure your "responsiveness" to visual stimuli -- in this case, gay pron.

She made the claim that "conservatives wish we could do the same in the US" and failed to provide any evidence.

"Fruit machine" is a jocular term for a device developed in Canada that was supposed to be able to identify homosexual people, or "fruits". The subjects were made to view pornography, and the device measured the diameter of the pupils of the eyes (pupillary response test), perspiration, and pulse for a supposed erotic response.

The fruit machine was employed in Canada in the 1950s and 1960s during a campaign to eliminate all homosexuals from the civil service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and the military.
