Not sure what the point is of your post, but I suppose I can read between the lines.

I have no problem having more Muslims as neighbors. American Muslims in my experience, are very well integrated into our culture, are among our most law abiding citizens, and I am happy to have them as my neighbors, my local grocery store owners, my doctors, and engineers. Whatever faults America has, we have been pretty good at religious integration and tolerance - at least on balance and compared to the rest of the world.

Maybe the problem is with you. Not you specifically, but the way nationalism and the legacy of colonialism in your European powers has affected the way Muslims can integrate into French and English society.

Rather than always blaming Muslims, a little self-introspection never hurts, mate!

Would you offer this advice to everywhere else in the world, regarding their Muslim problems (India, China, Russia, the Philippines, etc.)?

I reject the premise of your question: that the world as a "Muslim problem".


The world has political problems, economic problems, social justice problems, environmental problems.

The world does not have a "muslim problem", any more than it has a jewish problem or hindu problem.

Islam is a political, economic, and social problem all rolled-up into one. The world does not have a Jewish or Hindu problem. It does have a very severe Muslim problem, and I'm sure that many a Jew or Hindu can attest to that.

That's not the way we keep score. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity as religions are pretty much the same theologically when you get right down to it.
We don't blame Serbian Orthodox Christianity for the persecution and murder of Bosnian Muslims. We are sophisticated enough to realize that a deep legacy of historical, ethnic and political fractures occurred in the Balkans, independent of theoretical theological concerns. Religion has always been used as a smokescreen to cover for the actual political, economic, and ethnic motivations of a given conflict.

We are not allowed to use a different set of standards to measure Hindu on Muslim, and Muslim on Hindu conflict in the Indian subcontinent.

The Serbs were probably trying to do the world a favour. Anyway, the score is very simple: Judaism and Christianity represent the West, and Islam does not. This is not a religious war, as Islam represents a menace to every aspect of Western Civilization, rather than simply its two most distinctive religions. It has done so for nearly 1400 years.

If you are even interested in the topic of your own thread, here is some more information supporting what I have been saying: that your anti-muslim attitudes are particular to Europe. You are viewing Muslims through a legacy, a prism, of European colonialism and nationalism.

Me? I am not afraid of Muslims, who are generally well-integrated and assimilated into North American society, and whom I generally consider to be one of our most law-abiding demographics. Sorry mate, you cannot make me fear Muslims!
