Musk Unveils Plan To Charge $8 Monthly Fee For Twitter Verification

Let’s be clear.

The 100% far left monopoly that Twitter had on political discourse is gone.

Musk has said that he is doing this so that the marketplace of ideas is open to everyone and that he loves mankind.

Until he proves this to be wrong, I prefer to believe him.

The left is going bat crazy because the right will be heard on Twitter. President Trump was banned but not the murdering leader of Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism.

This is ending as we speak.

Twitter’s new owner on Tuesday indicated the social media giant will soon charge users $8.00 per month for a blue verification badge.

Initially the price was more for the "Lords" at $20.

Twitter's new "Chief Twit" Elon Musk is reportedly considering making verification a Twitter Blue feature, while simultaneously quadrupling the subscription service's cost. This would essentially mean charging users a monthly $20 fee to keep their blue tick badge.

Predictably, many users have indicated they'd rather just be unverified.

I admittedly don't know the full workings of Twitter but to AOC's claim that free speech costs $8, no one is prevented from tweeting if they don't have a blue check mark correct? A blue check mark verifies you I guess, and gives you street cred, but a person's post is no different whether they are a blue check mark or not right?

Everyone knows about the blue check. It's supposedly to verify the accounts belong to real people. Clearly it doesn't work so I don't know how raising it to $20 then $8 helps.

I could be speaking out of my *ss here but there are plenty of real people who tweet regularly but aren't given blue check marks. Thus the certain street cred level of having a blue check mark. (So yes it does signal the person is verified but it's not an option simply given to everyone.)
