A mob of hundreds of rioters forced their way into the People's House by ATTACKING police and overwhelming them and taking their weapons and using them against them. They marched thru the Capital while shouting warnings they would Harm and Kill Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi and others while doing so.

Had Ashli Babbit succeeded and led that wave of the rioting mob into that last room, where they were hold up with the Congress people, the mod would have had control of the few Capital police in that room and their weapons while AT THE SAME TIME, taking the Congress people also in that room hostage. The rioting Mob would have full control of what would happen next to those Congress people. Would they hang any of them? Would they otherwise harm any of them as they were promising?

The Capital Police guarding the Congress People CANNOT just leave that to chance and give the rioting MOB that power and hope for the best. That was a line that HAD to be drawn and Ashli Babbitt, once she decided she would not stop, even as she saw the gun pointed at her and heard the command to stop, as she knew if she called his bluff and got in that room with the others in the mob, they would then take that officers guns, made the wrong bet. She got shot as she HAD to be shot.

It's ironic that the Fox News narrative is was her weight differential vs. the Capitol cop and for that reason, she posed no danger. Tyre Nichols only weighed 140 and he was tortured to death by 7 cops. But- you know Tyre was black so - according to the MAGAs he "had it coming".

Now where, exactly, is this Black cop who gunned down Ashi Babbitt? Is he still a police officer? Why was there no public investigation into this fatal shooting - no trial? I would say this Black cop was swiftly "disappeared" on the equivalent of a Witness Protection Scheme.Because a lot of people were pissed off about Ashli Babbitt's death and that cop had to be made to vanish fast before any real political blow-back started brewing up (or before he got dealt some common justice in the form a slug between the eyes). Also a Black cop murdering a young woman in Congress was not a good look for Biden's program of woke bullshit. There WAS an investigation. The cops was found to have acted lawfully. Had the traitor not tried to break into the Capitol and attempt to halt our almost 300 year history of a smooth transition of power, she's still be an idiot, but she's be a live idiot.

every time the mob broke a barrier and surrounded the Capital police, those Capital police became neutralized. They not only could NOT use any of their weapons at that point. But the mob could take and were taking them from them. The Capital police reported exactly that.

So every weapon on a cop, becomes in the control of the mob once they surround the cops.

So NO, if Ashli Babbitt and the mob she lead, had been allowed to swarm in to that room, and surround and outnumber the cops, they would be unarmed as they would have control of the cops weapons. The same mob that was threatening to kill Pence and Pelosi and other members of Congress.

it is sad she had to die, but she did HAVE to die. Once she refused the order to not proceed in to the room while leading the mob to follow, she had to be stopped.

Context matters. Situations matter. Shooting an 'unarmed' person on the sidewalk minding their own business is not the same as shooting an unarmed person, in proximity to guns and moving towards them, while they are saying they are there to kill Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi and other Congress members.


Had Ashli Babbitt succeeded and lead the invasion of that mob., in to that room, they had retreated to, and had they surrounded the police with far superior numbers then the cops guns and other weapons become the mobs guns and other weapons.

So if you are the Police charged with defending the Congress people, you cannot let them do that or you surrender your charges (the Congress people) to the mob and whatever they choose to do with them.

serious question: If they had to shoot an unarmed woman who hadn't threatened anyone to protect their charges, why didn't they have to kill a bunch of the dangerous ones as well?.....

That's a poor characterization. In fact, it is extremely lucky that there wasn't much more shooting that day; a cop at one of the entrances where rioters were smashing down doors and beating whoever stood in their way said they were just about to open fire because they were so overwhelmed, when reinforcements from VA arrived.

The person responsible for everything that happened that day is Trump. Babbitt would still be alive if not for his lies.

serious answer. They would have, had the 'dangerous ones' made them retreat to place of last stand and then began to enter that place despite the warning not to.

As you could see, retreat was the first option, as much as it could be used. But once retreat was no longer a viable option, then holding the line, including killing any rioter who refused to stop at that line became a NECESSITY.


Pence Secret Service team was preparing for the same thing, as many of them called their families to say goodbye and that they may die knowing that if the mob was able to get too close to them, they would be overwhelmed.
