I doubt Trump will get that far. He'll probably bail out of the primaries unless the numbers show a sure-win...which I doubt will happen. Look at JPP as an RW microcosm: only the biggest fucking morons and/or most insane haven't switched from Trump to DeSantis.

In my opinion, the only reason Trump got nominated for the 2016 election was Romney and McCain both proved such limp wristed, whiney, capitulating, sacks of shit that Republicans were inclined to vote for someone they perceived as having a spine.
 
Only idiots and the truly insane took what Trump was passing as "having a spine".

IMO, the reason voters voted for him varied a bit but was mainly 1) increasing dissatisfaction with the Boy's Club at Foggy Bottom and 2) Hillary was known to be corrupt and Trump was an unknown.

Trump won because the GOP has lost its way. And they are still lost - look at the people who are the faces & leaders of the party today.

Think about it: this used to be the party of Reagan. Reagan would be shocked & disgusted by what they have become. Most GOP politicians don't even reference him anymore.

THAT was a formidable party. They're a clown show now.
