California, though I've lived in a few different states and countries. Personally, I haven't had many problems with people of other races. I never had a life-changing moment where I was like, all of THESE PEOPLE are terrible!
But in every city I've lived in, I've seen self-segregation. And in the course of the last ten years I've seen anti-white sentiment get worse every year on social media and in politics and MSM. Five years ago, nobody thought reparations would be taken seriously in presidential debates, or that Facebook would be flooded with anti-white memes.

People of all colors are on the Streets protesting 'Police Conduct'. Others have joined in and are 'protesting' about our (US) History.
Let's take Columbus. Great discovery for Europe to unload their overcrowded Cities, spread their Language and Culture, ... not so great for the Tribes of the Native People. French, English, Portuguese, and Spanish language and power has come to the New*World, wiping out that which was here. I could see why Native People would be upset about that.
My Position: Swap out the 'Columbus Day' artifact and replace it with a 'Dia de La Raza' emphasis. In other words, exchange the 'Glory of European Conquest' to a day celebrating 'Racial Mixture'.
Americans are 'Heinz 57', we all have a dozen bloodlines in us. A good way to view the World in an objective manor, not based on Nationality or biased towards a particular ethnic group.
I think replacing Columbus Day with a day that celebrates miscegenation would be absolutely awful, but it wouldn't even help to accomplish what you want. The melting-pot has never been a thing, no matter how many times we've tried sucking up to minorities. If anything, this would embolden minorities to continue the fight to take all white people out of perceived positions of power.
