This is too funny. trump trashed everybody during the last two years with rude, ugly insults... men, women, rich, poor, sick, well, attractive, unattractive... and cons not only overlooked it, they applauded it. And now they're outraged?

Reid continued: “He did come to leadership after some controversy over attending a White nationalists event, which he says he didn’t know what it was. Because he is in jeopardy and everyone is pulling for him, are we required in a moral sense to put that aside?”


While Reid was making these comments, an on-screen graphic showed Scalise’s record highlighting his more polarizing decisions, such as sponsoring a bill to define marriage as between a man and a women.

The MSNBC host also sent out a tweet that said,

On Monday, Fox News media guru Howie Kurtz was still upset about Reid’s comments, calling her “appalling.”

“While Steve Scalise remains in a hospital bed fighting for his life, she’s attacking him because she doesn’t like his politics,” Kurtz said. “For Joy Reid to tweet that Scalise was attacked by a white man… why bring race into it?”

The Hill media columnist Joe Concha made a prediction about the situation, “Here’s how the Joy Reid thing unfolds: She goes viral for profoundly reckless/myopic Scalise tweet. Blowback ensues. Forced apology follows.”

I do not think she did anything wrong, and this strikes me as another manifestation of selective outrage, fabricated by the rightwing outrage industry. In fact, I bet you didn't even come up with this outrage angle on your own, but it is something you found on a rightwing blog and decided to rush over here and parrot it.

From what I could see, she showed the proper level of tact and maturity by wishing him a speedy recovery.

His voting record and activities are a matter of public record. Unless he is ashamed of voting against marriage equality and associating with white nationalists, why wouldn't his career be a matter of public discourse?

As a sidebar: During my adventures on the interwebs, I saw little to no outrage or defense of Michelle Obama from righwingers when she was called a chimpanzee, or a gorilla in heels. So I will say in parting, spare me the crocodile tears unless and until the faux outrage becomes less selective.

So, as far as I am concerned the wailing for "civility" and plaintiff expressions of faux outrage are not to be taken seriously. At all.

Yeah, bashing someone while their in the hospital recovering from being shot is real classy and shows a level of maturity beyond repute. Like a person recovering from a gunshot would can respond, let alone in a healthy fashion. He is not dead, he is recovering.
