you are not in a heavily blue state bro. Yes, it has been going to the dems pretty consistently for a while, but only by a few %. I actually am glad you don't know how bad it gets. Mass is a heavily blue state. I lived in washington, there are conservatives everywhere. In my old (very small) neighborhood, 4 of my friends were homeschooled because their parents didn't believe in evolution. Easily 20-30% of my school were born again christains. In mass? I don't know anyone that is religious. The things I described about WA are non-existent in mass. The only type of conservatives that are here are business/rockefeller type republicans. Those are rare.

You overall live in a pretty health mixed state of different idealogies. Mass is the peoples republic.

Take a look at RCP, and notice how Oregon is light blue, and we're dark blue. It's because Portland is small, and the control it and Springfield/Eugene have over the state is much smaller than Pugetopolis. Also, the Peninsula is pretty leftist, as well. Seattle/Everett/Tacoma/Olympia aren't losing their control anytime soon, even though East King, and non-metro Pierce, Thurston, and Snohomish are pretty conservative.
