To block a filibuster you need 60 Senators to vote "yea" on any bill.

To prevent a Presidential veto, 66 "yea" votes are required.

Anything the Dems might try to do on immigration reform has been and will continue to be met with obstruction by the Repugs unless it involves using barriers and armed force to keep them out altogether.

That is their knuckleheaded view of immigration reform.

Once again, you just choose to talk about something altogether different in response to a post.

I just explained to you how Congress works in terms of the Senate rules. As long as there are enough Repugs to filibuster any bill, they will do it making positive action impossible.

And again, I am not talking about extremist nutjobs.

Yes, they exist on both sides and I have said as much countless times. But the percentage of Repugs who are extremists is much greater than the percentage of Dems who are, at least for now.

Still boils down to.... without a 60 to 40 Senate majority and the WH on board with any issue, it cannot happen.
