I know perfectly well Church teaching on abortion and the health of the mother. In fact, I referred to it back in post 99 which mentioned Directive 47. I supported the nun's decision to let the woman in Phoenix have an abortion. She was not acting outside the rules of the Church. I condemned the bishop who excommunicated her for permitting the abortion, in posts 194 and 223. He was acting outside the rules of the Church.

I've criticized santorum for the last 20-odd years he's held public office because of his rank hypocrisy on many positions, not just abortion. He's at his worst when he criticizes others for doing the very same things he does himself, and then tries to justify his actions with semantics.

Finally, I never ridiculed any church, Catholic, Mormon, or otherwise. You're making up a rant and using me as your target and you're flat-out wrong. I have ridiculed people who twist biblical or Church teachings in an effort to push an agenda. That's the difference.

If Church teaching allows abortion in certain cases, why is santorum saying “That would be taking a life, and I believe that any doctor that performs an abortion, I would advocate that any doctor that performs an abortion, should be criminally charged for doing so.”

It sure doesn't sound like Catholic church teaching, does it.

Santorum thought a $250,000 cap was a correct in 1994 and that is one thing.....
Stating a larger amount 10 years later is not hypocrisy at all.....Its 10 freakin' years later......and that amount is now the new figure.......of course ...its 10 years later.....

a speeding ticket 20 years ago is certainly much higher today.......and its normal and natural for those things to change .......you call it hypocrisy because you're a partisan ass.....

People get millions of dollars from McDonalds for spilling hot coffee on themselves.....so what the fuck is your point about actual medical cost.....McDonalds coffee only costs 2 bucks.

Mrs. S's medical costs amounted to $18,800... nowhere near the $500,000 she was requesting. She wasn't fair and honorable enough to request the amount of her bills plus a little more for pain and suffering. Instead she asked for almost 27 times the amount. That translates to GREED. And as usual, santorum the hypocritical p.o.s. could only say “The court proceedings are a personal family matter. I will not be offering any further public comments, other than that I am not a party to the suit. But I am fully supportive of my wife.” It's a lead pipe cinch his jaws would have been flapping in criticism if it was Mrs. Kerry's lawsuit, for example.

Like I pointed out....one women got 2.9 million and a man, 500,000 for spilling hot McDonalds coffee on themselves......think that was more than enough to cover medical bills and "a little more" for pain and suffering......
But thats not really the point.......if Santorums legislation would have prevailed, his wife's lawsuit would have been limited....it wasn't and so neither was her lawsuit.....
