The Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians for 2009 list has been announced by Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption. The list is compiled at the end of each year. The list, in alphabetical order, includes:

China executed Tuesday the former manager of a securities company who embezzled millions of dollars -- the first execution of an executive from the financial sector.

China has also executed government officials in its long-running fight against corruption, which is a major source of anger among the country's citizens.

While I detest corrupt politicians, it is not a crime worthy of execution. Failure to understand this explains much about why the world views China as backwards. Its a basic human rights issue.

My opinion is that killing other human beings is not to be done lightly or at the request of a mob. It must be reserved for the most heinous of crimes, not for the lesser offense of political corruption.
 
It seems you are in the grip of a religious fervor personally. This has no place in a modern state's judicial enactments. Does your Jesus condone rape murder and theft?

No, Jesus did not condone rape, murder or theft. But I verymuch doubt he would have condoned executing innocent people.

I am most certainly not in the grip of religious fervor. I am using cold logic and civilized information.



Are you claiming that every single execution was of a murderer or rapist? Are you claiming that not one single innocent was put to death?

You are ignoring the main point of my argument. I have repeatedly stated that I am not in favor of outlawing capital punishment. What I have also repeatedly stated is that executions of politicians for taking bribes is barbaric and uncivilized. Yet you ignore this and continue to talk about rapists and murderers.

Yes Jesus was executed. And no, my religion does not teach "an eye for an eye". You are mistaken about that. In the Old Testament that was the law. But Jesus spoke against that law and it is no longer part of proper christian ideology.

Also, the fact that someone was executed 2,000 years ago does not even come close to justification for executions of politicians now.

You make claims that China is so modern, and yet are replying on the execution of someone 2k years ago as an argument? That is insanity at its best.

Indeed we do. Again, you are ignoring the point of my argument. I have not (try and read this and understand it) said that capital punishment should be outlawed.

You posted that China executed corrupt politicians and business executives. That is what I have been arguing about since I first posted here. But you seem unwilling to debate that. Instead you bring up murderers and rapists.



Also, in the US we make sure each person accused of a crime gets legal representation and as fair a trial as we can do it.

China, on the other hand, often has the outcome of a trial determined by political powers before the trial even begins. This is reported by several international groups.
 
What international groups have the right and power to decide the fairness our justice?

In the case of the recently returned Uighau criminals, in online surveys, I found 98 percent support for harsh punishment of the culprits and for the World Uighur Congress to be labeled a terrorist group.

How I wish our friends abroad could gain such an unfiltered sense of the pulse of public opinion in China!

What? Are you actually claiming that these are all lies and the truth is told only by the press that is owned and operated by the chinese gov't? Surely you are not that naive?

The international groups have reported (with evidence to back their claims) horrendous crimes against innocent people. What do they have to gain?



But I see that you are still avoiding the topics of executing innocent people, the lack of proper representation of those accused, and my argument that political corruption is not a crime that warrants execution.

You are blind to any negative parts of your own government, and yet you love to point out the flaws in other nations.

That is called hypocrisy.
 
These vile slanders are perpetrated by some villains manipulating a few innocent misguided. I also hope people outside China will never again be misinformed in this way.

Those reports were put out by respected international organizations.

Your labelling them as "vile slanderers" is simply proof that you are a hypocrite.

How can Americans convince others if they themselves behave so badly? The USA, like an ostrich that buries its head in the sand, is trying to fool itself.

America should look more into its own problems and think more of how to improve its own human rights situation, rather than meddling in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of 'human rights'.

Passing itself off as the 'world human rights guard', USA has trampled on the basic human rights of Iraqi prisoners and common residents, but its authorities only care about their own political future.

USA always wants to play the role of Redeemer. However, wherever it wages a war, it covers up the conditions there.

USA is the only country to publish a human rights records every year to condemn and orpress other countries in 'human rights' problems.

Its attempts to interfere in and even to trample on internal affairs of other countries, under the excuse of promoting 'democracy and human rights', will never be accepted by the international community.

There are very basic differences between the issues here and in China.

First of all, our violations of human rights have been reported on by a free press within our country. That is not true in China.

Human rights violations by our gov't have been condemned by our own citizens. That is not true in China.

When human rights violations have been reported, we investigate them and make changes to stop them from happening again. That is not true in China.



In other words, you refuse to even acknowledge that human rights violation occur in China, while we not only acknowledge them but right the wrongs more often than not.
