Something you left out. Mississippi also has the highest black population of any states.
The problem is Mississippi is easy to identify. It's the large black population. Until you accept facts, problems can't be solved.
Odd that you would say algebra. You really can't do much with physics problems like F=ma without calculus. I would think you would want people to be able to use calculus.
I am always shocked by how few people, even people who took calculus, can use it in every day life. It is a real failure in education.
Definitely the exception especially when those that do the worst have the highest black populations.

You can actually do a fair amount. True, both F and A in this equation are best described as differentials, you can also use algebra on such equations. If you'll recall, even equations (including differential equations) can appear as variables in algebra.
Of course. Both apply. Remember, calculus itself is defined through the use of algebra.
I'm not. Math in schools is taught as a very dry, uninteresting subject without application of it, or without the history of it. It really is no wonder most students slept through it.
Agreed. It is just one failure in education. They also do not teach philosophy or logic. They teach a very twisted idea of 'science' (without teaching science), and a very distorted version of history as well.
Schools have become propaganda centers for the liberals.
Kentucky is among the worst, and Massachusetts is among the best, with the same number of blacks. Idaho is in the bottom half with no blacks. New York is towards the top, with a huge immigrant population, and a lot of blacks.
I could go on and on, but the point is you have one data point that you are basing everything on. I have 50 data points. Your one data point is sounding like an exception.

There's a difference between having a few blacks and being overrun with them. When you realize that, you'll understand just how right I am.

Louisiana - 48th 32.4% black #2 overall
SC - 44th 28.8% black #5 overall
If it's not a concern, do those states with higher rankings want the blacks to come there?

Less than 1% of the population of Idaho is black. That would be less than 10,000 blacks.
