What stupid things did the Democrats in your YouTube videos say?

I heard passion, exasperation and anger relating to the behavior of the imported insurance lobby "protesters" paid to disrupt open debate.

All understandable.

I didn't hear anything stupid.

/grins....and yet another example of a Democrat saying stupid things....

HELLO!! HELLO!!
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!

ahem........................NO

I now return you to your regular programming.

Not one country that has a government run medical plan has reverted to a "pay or suffer" system. Not one. Every country started out with a "pay or suffer" system. Dozens changed to a government system. Capitalist countries. Communist countries. Socialist countries. Rich countries. Poor countries. Large countries. Small countries. Countries in the west and countries in the east. Countries in the north and countries in the south. Not one has reverted to a "pay or suffer" system.

Some malcontents or greedy folks will scour the internet seeking the rare medical case that was bungled in a country of 20 million or 30 million or 60 million and say, "'See! There's the proof it doesn't work." while neglecting to mention the one million or 10 or 20 million who could not afford medical insurance who are now covered.

Then there's the $$$ argument. There isn't even a political movement in any country with a universal plan espousing the return to a "pay or suffer" system. Again, the fear mongers tell us of impending bankruptcy while countries continue, decade after decade, to provide medical coverage.

The bottom line is if we can't or should I say "refuse to" look after our ill then we are already bankrupt.

Since you appear confused, again, I'll help you out.
This particular part of the thread was about whether DNC had a brain or not.
Your repetitive "rant-du-jour" would probably need to be posted, following a different exchange.

At least you haven't forgotton how to cut and paste.
And with you, that's a good thing.
Just don't eat the paste.

It appears the confusion is on your part. Not only does DNC have a brain but he uses it which is why he posts interviews such as the one in the first post.

You see, sometimes people do not know how misinformed and wrong they are until they hear/see someone else espousing similar views. In this case the lady in the interview is the typical anti-Obama medical plan individual. If you take note it's obvious she couldn't have arrived at her conclusion on her own.

In other words she is simply repeating what she's heard which is the typical Right Wing talking points. Specifically, she talks about raising taxes not knowing on what income level and, furthermore, not knowing what income group (household income) she falls into.

Similarly, you question/contemplate if DNC has a brain when anyone with a brain or capable of using one would know he does.

I hope I've cleared this up for you.

hardly...I remain puzzled how you could have hung around this board so long and never read one of DNC's posts.....

I was commenting on the opening post in this thread and basing my assessment on his wisdom to post it. The lady in the video is the perfect example of someone who doesn't know/understand. They hear "tax increase" and have no idea of the "what, where, whom" involved.

Will the tax increase be offset by lower premiums? What will be the cost compared to the benefit of having everyone insured?

Private policies differ regarding coverage. A government option would most likely cover more illnesses/operations/procedures due to the fact it would have to appeal to a more diverse group of people. Even if there is an ultimate higher cost is it a better value for the money?

How do we know? How can one make a judgment call? Again, it seems logical to look at other countries that have implemented plans. While each country is slightly different there isn't one that chose to revert back to a "pay or suffer" system.

While few people have gone over the plan with a fine tooth comb I feel it's reasonable to believe it will be better than any private plan due to the fact the dozens of countries with government plans have maintained theirs.

I don't think anyone believes it will be perfect. It will need adjustments from day one and will continue to require adjustments as new drugs and procedures enter the picture. However, everyone will be insured and that's the vital first step.
