I'm surprised more people didn't give up on me back when I first believed back some 35 years ago. God took his time with me, steadily making me more and more uncomfortable in those surroundings. Why did he take his time? I have no idea. I'm thankful for his mercy and the mercy of fellow Christians around me. It took a couple years to finally say "enough". I had to make a full clean break from dragging my past sinful lifestyle into my new life with Christ. Everyone's timeline is different. But, his faithfulness is the same.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Pet. 3:9).
