Morgan Freeman says US doesn't have a black prez?!!

LOL

Did he just call Obama an Oreo Cookie?

Looking back at the other black presidential candidates that previously ran for office, I guess they were to dark for the liberal crackers to vote for.

Morgan Freeman's interpretation of "Black" aside .. Obama IS America's first black president.

When you're a celebrity you get to say any ol' dumb ass thing and somebody will think it's relevant.

The case could be made that he is not America's first black president with regards to his consciousness. He simply doesn't have it.

I agree with Morgan Freeman, Ive been pointing out that the President had a white mother for a long time and that the president is as much white as he is black. I am not critizing the President for this, I am simply pointing out that fact.

Additionally, the president does not share a lot of ancestral history with the bulk of African Americans. He is not the decendent of slaves, (he is married to a decendent of slaves) his family did not suffer the opression the Average African American family suffered. (His wife's family did)

He grew up in a world that considered him black, and in that experience he understands what it means to be a black American, but his experience is very different.

I think that's bullshit Jarod. He grew up in America looking like a black male. That says it all.

I think, even in Hawai, he would have faced some ugliness by being biracial. That said, I also understand the claims that his family did not have the experiences that many blacks did in the US. And that would have shaped some of his views. But to say he is not black is a stretch.

Yep, and to claim he's not our first black President, I don't even know why anyone would want to make that claim. It's weird.

I find it racist to ignore the fact that he is born 50% white. Its based on the idea that the white race is so pure that even a drop of black blood makes you one of them.

I think Freeman's words say a lot about the social position of the biracial. The fact that Obama has a white mother means he is not accepted as black by many people, especially other blacks. It is a more subtle form of racism, but it comes from both sides. He is too black to be white, but his white mother means he is not 100% black.

That's a good point.

He is really not "black" and not "white", which is a terrable place to be in a world that sees only the two.

Luckily for him the reality of the world is that things are not only black or white.

I'll defer to BAC as this as I'm guessing from his screen name he is a dark skin brother. But in my experience (as a white conservative male) I remember the darker black woman complaining that many black dudes favored lighter skinned black women and that there was a definite division between dark and light.

So it wouldn't surprise me if a darker skinned black person thinks there's a difference between them and a lighter skinned mixed race black guy who was raised by a white family.

The president is America's first half black president. He is also America's first half white president.

This is true.

it's all for the good....this way we can have the first President who thought he was the first black president (Clinton), the first president that most people thought was the first black president (Obama) and the first president that black people thought was the first black president (tba)........

Let's begin with the genetics. Every modern human alive is genetically African.

Thus, when Africans and white people have children, the child carries African genes from both parents .. and Michaels Jackson's children aside .. the children of such parents are typically black in charcteristic .. as is Obama. If he didn't tell you that his mother was white, you probably wouldn't know it and he's just be another light-skinned black man. Nor do you see any difference in his children.

American slavers discovered long ago that no matter how many black women they raped, all they could produce was black children.

Those are the genetics.

Additionally, when one looks at Obama in his natural behavior, all I see are the natural characteristics of a black man. It's in his voice and oratory. It's in his body and how he plays sports. There is nothing "half" about him .. although it is indeed quite interesting listening to white people NOW claiming half a black man. :0)

No disrespect intended good brother .. I have a 22 year-old halfling son of my own. :0)
