More Troops to Afghan

Could you imagine if Bush would have pulled a Libya in his hypothetical third term.

They would have tried to impeach him, and you know it.

Holy shite - you just keep missing the point.

I don't know what to say, Darth. You simply do not listen. You have permanent blinders on, and ear muffs as well.

No other way to say it - the bolded is such a complete, unmitigated lie. Incredibly dishonest. Fabricated.
oh please. if you are not posting sanctimonious bullcrap, you are consistently posting excuses for Dems/left.

Bernie made some noises about Libya during the campaign as "interventionism" but only in the context of Iraq also..
Other then those squeaks, nobody said anything about Libya during the 2011 NATO/Civil war - or even up to the
Libyan Civil war of 2014 that continues today.
Obama called it "kinetic military action" and it was buried by the left

I've covered in depth w/BAC on DCJ #1 and by myself on DCJ#2, and i still keep it updated here:

to this day the civil war still rages with 3 different government in Libya.
There have been around 100,000 killed.the cities destroyed that many look like Syria, and ISIS infects Libya

The point is that Libya would have been a really big outrage under any republican president.

The only thing worse than outright lying is doubling down on it.

You're just like Trump now. The anti-war left hated Libya and were universally vocal about that.

On obscure lefty forums lol?

The media elevated Code Pink under Bush---spare the excuses, they did.

I did - as usual, you just ignored it.

Scale is fairly important when it comes to media coverage, Darth. A multi-trillion $, 10-year+ war - which involves a ground invasion and actual U.S. Troops (a huge #) - is going to get a bit more coverage than a conflict like Libya.

I'm sure I don't really have to explain that to you.
what you don't understand is Libya's devolution into a failed state has left it a security threat to Egypt.
Egypt has been hit by terrorist crossing into their border from Libya.
It's so bad Egypt has bombed Libya a tleast 2x since 2014.

Libya is a linchpin connecting AQIM in northern Africa to Egypt's "Sinai Province"
( that shot down the Russian airliner) and kills Egyptians in their Sinai -to ISIS and AQ in Iraq/Syria

ridiculous.
Where was the anti-war left? Code Pink? that's hardly a movement.
The proof was in last years election - only Bernie brought it up one or 2 times, and it was NEVER about Libya by itself
-it was always in conjunction with Hillary's Iraq vote..

So much for "universal" -( although the anti-war left is a thing of the past with it's jingoistic Russiaphobia
slobbering for Cold War 2 w/Putin.)

If you want to claim Code Pink as "anti-war left" Ok..but that's all there ever was.
I followed Libya every damn day,and it was always silence from the Republicans and Democrats both

Just like Trump, you just say stuff.

Again - the anti-war left was against Libya, and very vocal about it. Sorry, but it wasn't anything like the scale of Iraq, so they didn't cover it every single day. It was miniscule compared to Iraq, on every level - cost, time, and (especially) commitment of U.S. troops. That you guys see it as some sort of apples-to-apples just reveals that you're stupid, as well as dishonest.

You have zero credibility, on anything. As others have said, if Hillary had won and announced this Afghan escalation, you'd have 20 threads on it already, calling her a neocon & warmonger. You are beyond transparent.

you can join Cypress with your inability to discriminate between "escalation" and interventionism.
Hillary was a big fan of interventionism - have you seen Trump do that?

4k troops is not "escalation" anyways. EVERYTHING ELSE stays the same in terms of combat roles.
The only difference is Trump is not basing war policy like Obama did on a timeline -using events instead.
++

Do you recall "blood for oil" and worldwide marches damn near every weekend during Iraq?
Where were they for Libya ? A couple of Cold Pink women holding up sign is not the "anti-war left"
I've probably seen more pushback on Trumps Afghan speech then in all the years of the left's silence on Libya

Gawd almighty now you are parroting Hillary's "Smart Power " meme that we didn't use troops in Libya.
We did bomb Misrata's civilians, and we literally bombed Qaddafi's army to smithereens so the NTC could advance
as it was not a popular evolution.

You are so mindlessly fvcked up on the scale of destruction to Libya, and the aftermath of weapons flow to Syria
and the infestation of Libya by ISS it would be a hopeless task to instruct you on the damage done by Libya war 2011

And you still don't understand the incredible difference in scale between Iraq & Libya.

It truly is like you're stuck on stupid. Trump has had the effect on otherwise intelligent people. You'll wake from the state of hypnosis someday.

So pathetic. You really need help. Nothing but spin.

Answer me this one, dopey: how many ground troops did the U.S. send into Libya?

Fool.
"what difference does it make at this time?" ( Hillary on Bengazi). The outcome is the same.

we did massive bombing raids/Tomahawks in an effort to stop Qaddafi's "humanitarian war".
That was full bore interventionism/regime change

The country was fractured on tribal/geographic lines because of the power vacuum we left after we assassinated Qadaffi.
Their government split -some going to Bengazi/Tobruk- some staying in power in Tripoli.
Our interventionism started the process of creating their Civil war.

and THING..
I do give you credit for standing up and debating Libya and results. more power to you there.
The rest of the Democrats will never say a damn word about that awful war

You didn't answer that question.

In that answer, you'd at least partially understand why there weren't thousands in the streets screaming "no blood for oil." Scale is important. Actual U.S. Troops in harm's way are important.

If scale trumps principle you wonder about the principle.

Or if it's even a principle.
