I know lots of politicians. They get into it because they care and want to make America better for the people. Being a politician is a lot of work and requires a lot of travel too. It is almost 100 percent college degrees. If you were doing it, you would find out how much it requires. You deal with the day-to-day job. You have to show up in congress or the senate. You work on committees and have to prepare for that. You have to help work on bills and know enough to help write them and vote on them. You have to deal with the press and make speeches. You could not handle it.
A degree doesn't make you particularly educated or smart. It means you have a degree in many cases. Most top tier politicians don't do the leg work or even really know fully what they're talking about. They have lackies that write their bills off generalized ideas. They have speech writers.
I know from going to political events and socials that most politicians
hate, absolutely
HATE running into people like me. I don't step into topics or issues I don't have knowledge of, interest in, or informed knowledge of at those sorts of things. Instead, at those sorts of events I ask questions that get 'deer in the headlights' and stammering dodges from politicians. You run into the rare politician that is actually not only smart, but well informed. Most are not too bright and poorly informed. They get by instead on personality. When confronted where personality doesn't work, they run from you.
For example, a perennial favorite of Arizona Democrats is calling for big bucks for "education." Our last superintendent of education was Kathy Hoffmann. She was always deer in the headlights when I'd ask her about how she planned to make schools accountable for results from this spending. No answer, just stammering about how you can't measure that sort of thing, to which I was quick to point out just how you can. She got where she would see me and studiously ignore / avoid me instead of ever coming up with an answer.
I suspect our new governor would do the same. Ducey did the same thing in a state-wide public phone conference call while in office with the public where I posed the same question to him.
Politicians don't like it when they are calling for more spending and you want accountability, but they have no answer for that. That's one example.
I'm sure the FBI or IRS would pay me a visit after fronting Joke Biden off on something. He's a total 'tard and would be easy pickings to beat in a debate.
