More proof Republicans don't want the common man to have the whole truth?

Allow me to borrow a line from conservatives everywhere..."I don't trust the media to tell the entire story".

How's that for a reason?

I can buy that. Do you trust a political party to tell the truth or entire story about the other political party?

I understand if the question was too tough for you to handle...don't feel bad!

It is nice to see you avoiding the same tired ad homs you usually respond with, though!

What the hell are you talking about?

my link is fine...and nice job distracting everyone from the real point. That the gutless Righties YOU support are trying to quash any attempt at showing just how angry the American people are at the policies the Right has enacted over the past 12 months.

irony

If some of the links story is bullshit, then ALL of links story is bullshit...

Typical authoritarian all or nothing, black and white only, no gray area thought process, brought to you by our resident conservatard, Bravo. bravo, Bravo.

IMO, the cops fucked up. This is a PUBLIC forum, not a private or even semi-private forum. The bullshit excuse of protecting the privacy of the constituents is the hope and a prayer of getting a judge to side with law enforcement for the inevitable lawsuit. One in which they will lose.

It is not illegal to photograph or video-record in public places, yet the police are now routinely confiscating equipment, with no authority to do so. Why are we allowing this to continue?

First they started charging admission to try and keep out the common man, now they won't let Joe Sixpack record the supposedly "public" townhall meeting for future study...

Security guards seized the cameras and cell phones of several Democrats at a “town hall” meeting featuring Rep. Steve Chabot (R-OH) Monday.

While media organizations were allowed to record the event, a security guard collected recoding devices from certain audience members “to protect the privacy of constituents,” according to a Chabot spokesman.

ThinkProgress was able to film an iPhone being confiscated from Cincinnati Democrat David Little and a video camera being taken from former Democratic candidate Liz Ping.

“The officer was very nice about it; and we politely and cordially defended our right to record a public official speaking in public in a public building,” Little explained. “What are they afraid of?”

Later in the meeting, Chabot faced jeers from the audience over his vote to defund Planned Parenthood.

Ya know Zappa I'm no fan of social conservatives. They're almost always on the wrong side of history and all to often delay needed progress and I have no use what so ever for right wing nuts but, getting to my point, what politician ever does want their constituencies to know "The whole truth"?

You mean something like trying to ban a NEWS organization from the White House Press room? Gutless.... like that?

because we've been dumbed down to believe that the courtroom is where all disputes should be resolved, that you don't argue with a cop, that you follow the authorities orders.

More proof teabaggers represent the special interests that bought them off with campaign contributions and not the people who voted for them. When are you wingnuts going to realize your party represents about 5% of the population and that 5% doesn't include you.

Yurt... teabaggers are charging for questions or admission to 'free' town hall meetings in order to dodge questions from the very people they are screwing. It's all about perception. Splitting hairs about who is collecting the cash at the door has nothing to do with the fact that the right can't stand up to their constituents because their policies are anti-people and anti-American.

is it your claim that actual reps are charging, or is it your claim that certain party organizations are charging admission to sponsored events? also, where is your proof that the events must be "free". it does matter who is collecting the money, because zappa lied and claimed it was the reps. and really, $10, yeah...that is really sticking it to the american people. if they want to charge a cover fee, what is it to you? the event was open to the media, thus zappa lied again that republicans are trying to hide the truth.

are you going to decry the above?

You mean something like trying to ban a NEWS organization from the White House Press room? Gutless.... like that?

Banning a News Organization from the Press Room of the White House is a totally different situation than a Politician banning PRIVATE CITIZENS attending a town hall meeting with said Politician IN A PUBLIC PLACE...but then if you weren't such a complete partisan douchebag, you'd be able to admit as much, now wouldn't you?

"What's the essential point of charging the citizenry for the privilege of meeting with their elected representatives...?

By outsourcing the events to third parties that charge an entry fee to raise money, members of Congress can eliminate most of the riffraff while still -- in some cases -- allowing reporters and TV cameras for a positive local news story.
I mean, someone has to pay for all those positive news stories, right?"

Anyway, I suppose if you are fighting off a foreclosure or trying to stretch every dollar to ensure your kids get fed tonight, you'd better think very carefully about your household budget before you decide to ask Paul Ryan a question about the economy."

Lol your excuses are very thin and transparent. Money = free speech in the right wing bizarro world.

Where's Jeff Gannon when you need him. Oh, forgot he was outed years ago. LOL.

It's all about perception and a right wing dog and pony show.

so it's ok to violate the first amendment, but not to restrict who attends a meeting?

No it is not. The Pressroom is a secure location from which the president can give press conferences and make announcements to the press. The public is not barred from the pressroom, however, they one assumes they must first go through a rigorous screening process before being allowed in.

Yurt knows this, but his hatred for me is so great, it's unhinged his mind and is causing him to ask patently stupid question in yet another lame attempt at playing "gotcha".
